Days aren't worth living anymore. Nothing is worth my time, because, to be honest, I am no longer needed.
Joey has her; Danni has him. They have each other, and don't need me at all.
Being a Protector is the worst curse I could have. Being a Protector means I'm restricted to just be as such, not allowed to show any sign of my true, confused, undecided feelings for her.
We have merged packs to protect Danni. If she is captured and used by the vampires, then there is no chance any werewolf will survive anywhere. We'll be extinct.
We stay at the Rocky Mountains place, as our place would never fit everyone. We all share rooms, and since there are sixteen of us, we have rooms of two. Danni, regrettably, is with Joey, I am still with Seth, Ian and Jake, Matt and James. Then there's the other people from the Rocky Hills, but i don't care much to learn their names- I don't plan on being here too long.
We still call ourselves the Blue Springs Pack and the Rocky Hills Pack. We aren't one big happy pack, as there is still some anger between us when I party crashed a month ago, but two seperated packs, working together reluctantly to save our own lives.
"Hi," I mumble, getting a bottle of water from the fridge. "Want one?" I ask, turning around. "Oh, hi."
"Hey Tyler," Joey says, sensing my anger to him.
"What's up?" I ask, trying to be socialable.
"Nothing, what time is it?" he asks.
"Uh..." I glance over at the clock. "9:30, why?"
"Oh, nothing," he says dismissively. "Danni and me are gonna go out for a hunt."
"Oh," I reply, sipping water just to be doing something. "Have fun."
I walk away without saying another word, and without letting him say anything else. I go down towards the basement, slamming the door behind me, which closes with a loud bang.
I lay down angrily on the sofa, kicking my feet up onto the arm of the couch. It envelopes me in its plushness, and my eyelids feel unusually heavy...
"You're sleeping again?" a bemused voice asks.
"Shut up," I murmur, but open my eyes to see Danni. "Sorry..."
"No problem," she laughs, walking towards me. Realizing that I'm not going to move my legs for her to sit, she smirks, and sits on my stomach.
"Okay, ow," I laugh.
She doesn't get up, but laughs, and says, "There wasn't anywhere else to sit."
"Over there," I say, pointing to a pillow on the floor.
"I may be a werewolf, but I am not a dog. So no, I don't sit on the floor," she says, smiling.
"You sure about that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
She hits me in my chest. "Shut up," she growls, her eyes turning a deep, crimson red.
She blinks a couple of times then looks away, using her hands to shield her face.
"Hey, look at me," I say, wriggling out from under her so she's sitting next to me.
"No, it's hideos," she says quietly.
"I bet you it's not," I say, trying to pull her hands away.
The wolf in me leaps all around, pushing my body to just pull her hands away so I can see her face. It's hopping about, swatting at my insides, edging me forward...
