The Morning After

Benjamin woke up to a loud shrieking and almost fell out of bed.

He peeked his head out of the door only to be grabbed by his mum and swayed around by his wrists.

"He's okay! Your dad is okay! The King has lived through his sickness!" His mother laughed and ran away, opening the door and waking up the press to spread the joy.

Benjamin turned back to his boyfriend to see that he was somehow he was still asleep. Benjamin smiled to himself and sneaked over to Alexander and poked him in the face.

Alexander groaned and sat up, studying Benjamin's face.

"You're dad.... is he..." Alexander said quietly, not wanting to hurt Benjamin's feelings if something had gone wrong.

"He's fine! We did it! We saved my dad!" Benjamin said excitedly, bouncing up and down slightly.

Alexander smiled and ran a hand through Benjamin's messy hair.

"I knew we would." He whispered.
