That night they set up their camp for the night under an old tree. The branches dropped just low enough to make an accurate shelter for the night.

After setting up their things for when they decided to sleep Alexander started cooking the vegetables they had found, along with pulling the last of the jerky from the bags the Queen gave them.

"Sure glad we stopped and restocked our food huh?" Alexander said with a light laugh.

Benjamin just nodded. He seemed sad though, usually Benjamin was glad to talk to Alexander, but tonight he seemed like he'd rather do anything than talk to Alexander.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Alexander asked worriedly.

Benjamin just shook his head.

Alexander placed a plate of cooked vegetables and jerky in front of them both and sat down across from Benjamin.

"You can tell me Benjamin. If there's something wrong then you should tell me. I could help you." Alexander said softly.

"Why the hell do you care so much?" Benjamin snapped.

Alexander sat shocked, Benjamin never cursed, and he certainly never snapped at him like that.

"My dad's about to die and I need to focus on getting him a cure. He's just a King to you. Why do you care so much about him? Is it just for the publicity? Is it for some sick twisted way of thinking your a hero? Why do you care so much about someone who's never even seen you?" Benjamin asked, taking as if the words were all blurred together in a long name.

"He's the bloody King. Any knight would risk their life for the-" Alexander tried to explain himself but Benjamin cut him off.

"No knights would willingly care that much. They just pretend to because it's their job. Now tell me why the hell you care so much about my dad." He snapped, putting unneeded emphasis on the word 'hell'.

Alexander mumbled something with a head down, but Benjamin couldn't hear him.

"What did you say-" Benjamin tried to ask before Alexander snapped his head up to look at Benjamin, and Benjamin saw that Alexander's face was covered in tears.

"It's because I like you." Alexander said again, barely loud enough to be heard.

Benjamin just stared at him, completely shocked, unable to process what Alexander had just said. Benjamin knew that he had a little crush on Alexander, but was it even possible to have Alexander like him back?

Apparently it was because after sitting in silence for a few seconds Alexander stood up and apologized before leaving their tree shelter, leaving Benjamin with a cold plate of forgotten food.
