Chapter 11: Chad and Limbo

Kelsey and I got off the plane. I keep joking with Kelsey about 'what are they saying, what are they saying?' It was funny because she had no idea what they were saying so she just guessed. I remember one being about cheese. The point is it was really bad.

 The whole was beautiful from were we were. There were beaches and lots of ocean. I mean it should because it's an island, but I'm just saying! It was SO hot. I thought I was going to collapse and die. Not really die, but... you know what I mean. I wondered if it would be any better in the water. Probably not though.

 Kelsey looked over the railing focusing on the ocean. "Elizabeth, come look at this. You might want to if you wanna leave." I looked over the the rail. On the other side was a HUGE beach. There was lots of sand and lots of beach towels. But everyone was in just one spot, doing the konga. And who else to be at the front other than Aurora. She was wearing a 2 piece bathing suit. It wasn't  a bikini, but it did cover her belly button. I looked at Kelsey, she was slightly dancing. I pulled her arm and speed-walked down the slope.

Aurora started dancing with a boy at least 14. He had blonde hair and blue eyes.  His smile was so bright, it was almost as bright as Aurora's. I mean she always glows! The boy was wearing his bathing suit WITH NO SHIRT ON. I mean a 10 year old dancing with a shirtless 14 year old. If we were in normal time and were 13 then sure.... maybe. BUT THIS IS JUST WEIRD

"Whoa, uh, hey Aurora. What's up? Oh, wait I already know, but come on we're going back to Connecticut so we can fix this problem. THEN you can dance with..... this person. Just saying he will be 17 and you'll only be 13 so, probably not gonna happen." I felt pound I said this to Aurora.

"Well first his name is Chad. He speaks English and helped me out when I arrived here. Second, no. I'm happy just saying here with Chad I mean you can't just take me away! Can you even do that? Your not the boss of me." Now she was a bit feisty. She had a look on her face that said she was serious. She had her head tilted and didn't speak again. Then she looked at Chad for support

"Yeah, you can't just take her away. I mean if she wants to go then she'll go, but she wants to stay- right?" Aurora nodded and Chad make direct eye contact again. "But, I was thinking maybe if everything goes well, we could go home together. I live in California, we're visiting my uncle here." Aurora's face light up as she gave me the 'ha' look. Now I was furious.

"Look here Missy. If you like Chaaaaad that's fine! But he is 4 years older than you! Also this important, so you come with us then do whatever the heck you want I DON'T CARE! But really, moving in, your 10 and 13 at the same time. Why would you move in with someone ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY when you have a home and family in Connecticut!"

"Yeah, well why did you go back in time in the firs place. This is your fault, you have a loving family and awesome friends too. YOUR THE SOURCE OF ALL OF THIS SO DON'T GO TO ME!" Now I felt my heart drop. Hearing her say that changed my thought. Also hearing her say that made me think back on how she didn't believe me. Now I understood her.

Kelsey looked of into space and Chad said, "Wait, you're 13?" Aurora sighed and giggled a little bit.

"Okay, tell you what. I'll go with you if you beat Chad and I in a limbo contest" Chad and Aurora exchanged glances. Kelsey looked so excited, she was ready. I was too, this was going to be interesting.

"Fine, let's LIMBO! If you win you get to do as you choose. But if we win, you come with us." Aurora smiled back.

"YUP, but remember the rules." and I was thinking, 'there are rules to limbo?' "First no touching the bar of course, then there's no hands touch the ground, also your back can't touch the ground." Then Aurora gave a signal and two girls can out with the limbo stick. I didn't know if Aurora would leave even if we won.

Round 1 was easy. Just walk straight under, no need for bending or anything. Round 2 was only slightly harder. It went on like that until round 5. The bar was about to my chest and Chad gave a look that said he would get this. Kelsey got a little mad. Chad was under the bar a stick just came out and stuck straight up. Chad stepped on it and screamed "OWWWWW!" He lifted his head knocking it into the bar. He hit it so hard it knocked his butt onto the sand while still holding his foot. We all kinda laughed even Aurora. Then she say the stick and twisted her head towards Kelsey glaring.

Kelsey went to her turn in round 5. Aurora stayed on the other side beaming light towards Kelsey. Kelsey had to cover her eyes and lost balance. Now it was me and Aurora. She was so bendy, like a gymnast! It got to round 8 when I just had to fall. My back was done and my head was now spinning with questions. Now what was I gonna do? Aurora had won so she wouldn't go now.

"Okay, good limbo moves. So you won fair and square, I guess you stay here now? We walked away trying not to show disappointment.

"Wait, where are you guys going, without me?" She smiled and nodded. She was coming! I was really happy because 2/3 were back.

Chad looked sad and angry. "Wait, but what about our plans? The plans of moving to California with me? I thought this was gonna work out!" He had an edge to his voice.

"No sorry, but in reality I'm 13 and your 17, so um GOODBYE. You didn't think I would actually go with you right? If you thought so, you're crazy, SEE YA!" We walked away laughing.

"YOU GIRLS, YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS. I PROMISE YOU WILL!" Chad shouted, but we pretended not to hear him. Chad made me nervous. What does he mean we'll pay? Kinda weird, whatever. Aurora got changed and now we were waiting in an airport again. I've gotten so used to it, whenever I go outside, I expect it t smell like planes. I don't really know how to describe the smell of planes though.

"So, now what do we do?" Aurora asked on the plane.

"I guess now we go to Connecticut and wait for Brooke to come to us." Part of that was true. I was waiting, but I really was waiting for Laszlo to return.
