Chapter 12: Time

Traveling back home I wondered about everything I've gone through recently. Ally, I wondered what happened to her. I wondered if her parents cared that Ally had found them, if she did. Then I wondered about Chad. Chad scared me out, it was like he was trying to influence Aurora to do anything but go with me. Also there's the french lady and Russian guard. Both giving me way too much money. What if they just escaped from a mental hospital? Finally I thought about Laszlo. I questioned if I would see him again, or if he was even alive. And maybe it came up that at some point I wondered if he liked me.

 When we got to Connecticut Vari was waiting for us. Don't worry it's not creepy, we called her. She knows about the other her.

"Hey girls, it's the real me this time and I can prove it. My full name is Vari Elizabeth Stream. I know amazing last name. Um, my favorite color is aqua. And Elizabeth, you keep a secret puppy under your desk." (In case you didn't know yet that's where I got my name, from her middle name).

"Well, it's not a secret anymore. Do I have to give Lulu up now?" Lulu is my secret puppy my mom brought me. She has sparkly pink fur and a little wet nose. her ears are tiny and floppy. She is so tiny I could fit her in a picnic basket. She's the more magical and awesome Toto of real life.

"No Elizabeth it's just my point that it's really me. Do you understand that?" We all looked at her blankly, but nodded our heads. "I'll take that as a yes then because well.... moving on." She walked closer to the house and motioned us to follow her.

Inside the house she had water, glass, and magic. It was scary looking at her work. I mean if I used this and it didn't work, what would happen? Would I get sent to nowhere? Could that happen? I mean if they have sparkly pink dogs can they have 10/13 year old girls get sent to nowhere? IT COULD HAPPEN! I didn't know what I was more worried about, time travel or Brooke coming back and finding us.

Vari tried to look confident, but the proof was in her hands, they were shaking as if she was outside in winter without gloves on. The time necklace was almost finished, but I still didn't fully trust it. Come on your life is on this little necklace wouldn't you freak out?

"Girls this part I want to do alone in silence. In case you didn't know I'm putting more magic in. I don't know what will happen, but just leave the room just in case." Vari had a nervous look on her face so we left. It seemed like we are full of not knowing right now. I don't know what will happen and neither does anyone else in this house. Plus I didn't know if Brooke was watching us, I didn't know where she was. She could be anywhere and be anything.

"Elizabeth, what's going to happen when you leave? Are we like going to remember any of this? Or do you think this will just become a blurry memory." Kelsey asked.

"Yeah, I mean a lot could happen in 3 years, but really. Do you think you can forget this? I can't 'cause I keep my thoughts from the time I was currently in! I mean, like, this is AMAZING. How could you ever forget it?" I think I made them feel better. Aurora smiled at Kelsey, then Kelsey smiled.

"Wait, what about Laszlo? What do you think will happen to him?" This question kinda stung a little. Now my mind was focused on Laszlo. What would happen to him in 3 years?

"Um, I don't know. Will he survive? Will he be back in the U.S? Will he have a girlfriend?"

"Wait, what was that last one you said?" Aurora asked with a sly smile on her face.

"........ Will he be back in the U.S?" I answered. Aurora looked at Kelsey and giggled. Then I did too. But really, would he?

We attempted a conversation away from our problems. It was harder than it seems. We ended up talking about Aurora's school. It was kinda funny with her talking about students I know now, 3 years later, and how they were before. Some changed, some didn't. At one point we were laughing so hard because I fell out of my chair and pulled Kelsey done with me, and that happened to be the moment Vari walked in with my necklace.

It still glimmered blue and was shaped as an hour-glass. I felt like it would work, but I didn't know for sure. I tried to think well Vari made it, but that didn't help either.

"Elizabeth, now I must re-warn you the dangers of using this device in a bad way. I would except you already know the angers, we're in them now." Vari gave her smile and put it around my neck.

"Bye Elizabeth!" Aurora said.

"Bye? Why goodbye, I'll see you in a few minutes just you'll be 13."

"OH, OH, one more thing. Am I still pretty 3 years later?" Kelsey asked.

"Why are you asking me that?" I winked and with that turned the necklace to say 2013, present time. I remember there being swirling involved or something. Then there I was. Ice was all over the place, crunchy never melting ice. I was wanted and everything was normal. Almost everything. Laszlo I still didn't know. I also may or may not have throw snow in the air and let it drop on my face. My face was freezing, but I was too happy to notice.

"Well, I'm surprised. I honestly didn't think you get this far. I was also really hoping the Chad disguise would work. It didn't, you have good friends Elizabeth, but now they're not around. It's just you and me, where are they you ask?" She took out her staff and threw it into the ground. "It's not of your business." She had her 'I'm evil fear me' smile on. I worked pretty well.

"Brooke, your in for something! I'm not afraid of you!"

"Haha, YEAH, WELL ARE YOU AFRAID OF THIS?" She turned over 30 ft tall and shadowy. The shadow figure meant it was fake and she wanted you to know it. The shadow she was in, was Vari- curly hair and all. Now I was scared, she had all the power as a water goddess SOOOOOO much more powerful than me!

"I saw you dancing before, well it takes two to tango. You ready little girl, let's dance!"
