Chapter 2: Visits

Karma's POV

"I'm sorry, but... Who are you?"

I felt my heart sinking as she said that... "What? It's me, Karma..."

"Karma... Karma-kun, is it? Nice to meet you. My name is... My name is... Nagisa. Shiota Nagisa." She smiled.

I started to panic, "Hey... You really don't remember me!? I'm Karma! Akabane Karma!"

She looked at me, still smiling, "...I'm sorry... Isn't this the first time we've met?"

My eyes widened. She really doesn't remember me... No way...

Just as she said that, a doctor came in the room. He walked towards us, and I started flooding him with questions, "Hey, what the hell is happening!? She... doesn't remember me..."

"...The strong impact on her head has resulted to retrograde amnesia, the uncommon type of amnesia. She still remembers her pre-existing memories, and can still memorize new things." The doctor started.

"When we questioned her yesterday, she seemed to remember everything, but now... If I may ask, what is your relationship with her?"

I looked at him, my eyes widening. She has... amnesia? "I'm her friend..."

"I see. We will need to take further examinations on her."

He was about to leave, but I kept asking him questions, "Wait! Will she be able to remember me again!?"

He turned back, "We still do not know. We will have to examine her brain again, and it will depend on how severe the amnesia is."

"I see..."

He bowed, "If you'll excuse me..." And left the room.

I was still shocked, hearing Nagisa's condition. I turned back to her, she was showing a confused expression.

"I'm... suffering from amnesia?" She looked down.

I sat on the chair beside her bed, "I guess we need to start over. I'm Akabane Karma, your friend."

She smiled, "I see. I guess 'nice to meet you' isn't really the right thing to say, huh?"

I chuckled, "I guess."

"How long have I known you? She asked.

"We've known each other since 1st year of middle school. I started talking to you because you liked Sonic Ninja, a series I really liked too." I started.

"Is that so?" She smiled.

I continued, "Once Koro-sensei took us to see a Sonic Ninja movie to Hawaii. It was pretty crazy."

"Koro-sensei? Ah, our alien teacher. That sounds fun..."

She remembers Koro-sensei? Huh.

I kept telling her stories about our life in Class E, about Koro-sensei, about all the fun we had, about how we used to hang out all the time. I didn't realize it, but it was getting pretty late. There were a few times where a nurse would come in to check on her or give her medicine.

"We were pretty, close huh, Karma-kun? It's a shame that I don't remember you..."

'Were...'

"Well, I gotta get going now. It's pretty late." I said as I looked at the clock on the wall.

"Oh... Okay. Come back another time, Karma-kun! Hearing your stories is really fun."

I stood up, and walked towards the door. "See ya."

She waved, "Yeah, be careful on your way back!"

-Time skip-

I visited Nagisa the next day, and started chatting again. After a while, the door slid opened with Kayano, Nakamura, Maehara, Isogai, Okuda, Sugino, Kanzaki, and Koro-sensei walking in.

"Nagisa!" Kayano said, running up to her.

Sugino looked at her, "You okay, Nagisa?"

Nagisa looked at everyone, with a surprised face. She eventually smiled, "Guys... Thanks for coming!"

Maehara asked, "...You remember us?"

"Yeah!"

...She remembers them?

Koro-sensei gave her flowers and boxes of chocolates, "Nagisa-san!! These are flowers from Florida, and I flew to Switzerland to buy these chocolates! They are top quality!!" He said, imaginary sparkles floating around him.

Nagisa sweat dropped, "Koro-sensei! You really didn't have to..."

"No, no! Please accept them! It's a gift from me!" He said as he fixed his fake mustache.

"Oh! I almost forgot!" Kanzaki exclaimed as she reached for her bag. She took out a few cards, "Here, it's from the others. They couldn't make it today, but they said that they will visit soon."

Nagisa took the cards, "Thanks, Kanzaki-chan!"

They all talked for a long while, until they all took off after wishing her to get well soon.

"They really shouldn't have..." Nagisa said after they all left.

I smiled at her, "Well, basically everyone likes you 'cause you're so nice to everyone."

She smiled as she read all the cards she recieved. It was getting late, and I decided to go home.

"I'm gonna visit again tomorrow." I smiled at her.

She nodded, "Yeah, I'll be looking forward to it!"

I looked at her for one more second before exiting the room, making my way home.

She remembers everything... But how come she doesn't remember me...?
