Chapter 6: Promise

Nagisa's POV

"Hey, Karma-kun," I said, looking up from my sketchbook.

"What?" He replied.

"...Do you think that I'll ever remember you?" I asked, looking back down.

I saw his eyes widening from the corner of my eye, "..." He thought for a moment.

I broke the silence, "S-sorry for asking that all of a sudden. It's just that I've been thinking for a while now..."

He said, "...I dunno. I guess that depends on you."

Silence filled the room again.

"You know, Karma-kun," I started. "I actually want to remember you. I mean, not that I didn't want to..."

I continued, "I really enjoy my times with you, and I feel like you're someone really important to me. It's there, but I just can't seem to reach it for some reason. Like an invisible protective wall is blocking the way."

"Then I'll break it." I turned to see the red head smirking at me. "I'll make you remember."

I smiled back and held out my pinky, "Promise?"

He held out his hand and wrapped his own pinky with mine, "Yeah, promise."

"Don't break it, or else you'll have to swallow a thousand needles!" I laughed.

We looked at each other, blushing.

We pulled or hands back. Huh? My heart is beating like crazy... Is this what people call love?

...Probably.

Karma's POV

After saying goodbye to Nagisa, I went out the room. Man, that was embarrassing... But I promised her. To break that wall.

"How sweet."

I turned to my right to see Asano leaning against a wall.

Asano has always liked Nagisa. His love for her is completely crazy, and he's already tried multiple stunts to get her. But of course, none of them worked.

Seeing him now, I raise my suspicions on him, "What are you doing here?" I glare at him.

He smirked, "Is it wrong to visit a friend after she's been into an accident? I think not."

"Stay away from her, Asano."

He turned to me, still smirking. "Oh? What is that confident look in your eyes?"

I kept glaring at him, ignoring the looks we were getting from people passing by.

He raised his hands, "I am not here to make a scene, Akabane. However, I wouldn't be so confident if I were you."

Hearing that, I took a step closer, "What are you talking about!?" I shouted.

He turned and started walking, "Let's just say that your times with her are... limited."

"Hey! Asano!!" I was gonna run, but was stopped by a nurse, who was tapping my shoulder behind me.

"Please keep your voice down, sir." She said.

I ignored her and turned my head forward again to see... no one.

"Tch!" I walked out of the hospital, now going home.

I should've known that bastard was behind all this... I have to tell Nagisa to be careful around him...

Oh, and I don't think that this will be as long as my other book. This is already going into the plot. Ooh, plot and drama.
