(A/N) Happy trails to Daveed Diggs! May you continue to create and inspire! <3
"Hamilton, try not to miss me too much, will you?" Thomas winked.
"Wouldn't dream of it, Jefferson." Alexander scoffed. Laurens intertwined his fingers with his boyfriend's, Alex already melting into his touch and allowing it to calm him.
"Tsk, tsk, Alexander. Haven't you heard that lying is bad for the ski-" Thomas' voice trailed off, having caught sight of Madison, who arrived late due to a doctors appointment. He watched as his boyfriend looked around the airport, worry etched all over his face.
"Sorry to cut our farewells short but I have someone to see." Jefferson seemed to be in a trance as he moved across the room, trying his best to stay composed and not run.
Alexander pecked John's cheek with a kiss, swearing that he saw a blush on his enemy's face as he left them.
"J-James!" Thomas broke, waving his arm in the air to get the shorter boy's attention, the excitement in his body being too impatient to wait.
Turning, Madison smiled as a sense of relief rushed over him, causing all tension in Jefferson's body to vanish. "I was so scared that I was late."
"No, no, mon chér (My dear), you made it a little later than me." Thomas engulfed James in a tight hug, pulling back only to cup his face in his hands for a kiss.
"You're already speaking French." Madison noted, forcing a smile that lost against his sad eyes.
Jefferson wrapped his arms around the smaller boy's waist, pulling him close and leaning down to put their foreheads together, he puzzled, "You usually love when I speak French."
"Yeah, but," Madison pulled away to cough into the crook of his arm. Before he could continue speaking, Jefferson pulled a travel-sized tissue packet out of his jacket pocket.
"What'd the doctor say, Hun?"
Coughing, Madison took one of the tissues as Thomas rubbed his back, "The usual, new medication and new vitamins to boost my immune system."
The couple walked towards the trashcan to dispose of the tissue. James raised an eyebrow at his boyfriend, "Why are you still carrying those, anyway? You're leaving."
Jefferson simply scoffed and held the smaller boy's hand as they made their way towards their friends. Madison rolled his eyes and accepted the answer, there was simply not enough time together to fight. They walked slowly towards the group, feeling that they should be with them but neither of the boys wanting terribly to join.
"James?" Jefferson spoke softly, slightly swinging his arm as they moved.
"Yes, Thomas?"
"You were saying before? Something about my French?" Jefferson bit his bottom lip, not wanting to argue but also wanting to know why his dearest James was upset.
"Yeah, but let's not talk about that now, okay? You have to go through security soon and-"
Jefferson stopped in his tracks to turn and face Madison, grabbing his other hand, he interrupted his boyfriend with a sighed, "James, you know I can't do that."
"Fine." Madison took a deep breath, a blush creeping across his face, "You love France so much, I guess I'm just," the smaller boy paused from fear of treading on dangerous grounds.
"Go on, Angel." Thomas encouraged, speaking quietly and offering a soft smile.
"-Scared that you won't come back." James finished, his eyes glued to the ground.
Jefferson placed a gentle hand on Madison's cheek, "Sugar, no, I'd never just leave you. For as long as you're here, I'll always come back."
Tears began to well up in James' eyes as he laid a gentle kiss on Thomas' lips, "What am I supposed to do while you're gone? No one makes chicken noodle that's as good as your's, ya know."
"I know it's not the same but, uh, I left a giant bowl full of my chicken noodle in the fridge." Jefferson chuckled, letting go of one of Madison's hands to wipe tears off of his boyfriend's cheek with his thumb. "New York may be six hours behind Paris but that doesn't mean that we can't video chat. I'm going to be calling you so much, you'll be sick of my voice by the time I'm home."
"I'm sick of a lot of things but never you're voice." Madison whispered, bringing Thomas's hand to his face to kiss it.
"You always manage to blow me away, James."
"The least I can do," Madison coo'ed before Lafayette ran up to the couple.
"Time to go, mon ami!" he turned and wished farewell to Madison, along with promises to keep Jefferson out of trouble.
James chuckled, "Thank you, Lafayette."
Laf nodded with a soft smile and turned to say his final "See you later"s to his group of friends, lingering on Herc for kisses, tight hugs, and repeated "I love you"s.
Jefferson passionately kissed Madison before taking his hand and leading him to the cluster of people. "Take care of yourself, Angel. I'll let you know when I land."
As Thomas and Lafayette left the group, they were followed by farewells, wishes of a safe flight, "happy trails", and "I love you"s. A group of people that neither could ever forget.
(A/N) I got so carried away with Jefferson and Madison, I need to write more of them! I love writing Jefferson as an asshole, but I also just love writing him as a sweetie towards Madison h'oh boy. I was too emotional™ to write Laf's actual goodbyes, I'm so sorry.
Side note- I've been listening to so much Clipping today.
