Dear Journal,
It's putting thoughts in my head.

Today Skye's second oldest sister is getting married. Just like the other weddings, Skye has been asked to be the maid of honor and I have been asked to be the photographer. Malika was set to marry her high school sweetheart, Milo Hernandez.  Malika and Skye were super close, considering the 10 year age gap between them. I was waiting for Skye to finally get done with her hair and makeup.  "Well doesn't someone looks like heaven?" I marvel at her, walking down the open hallway, the light catching on her dress and skin. "I can say the same about you, handsome," She whispers, running her hand down the lapel of my suit. I pressed a tender kiss to the top of her head, signaling my thank you. We walked hand in hand towards the bridal room, having small conversations about the venue and decorations. When we reached the room, Skye knocked and waited for her sister to open it. "Skye baby! You could've just came in, silly. Hey Luca, thank you so much for doing this," Malika exclaimed, welcoming us both into her room.

"No problem, M. You know I'd do anything for you," I responded, kissing her cheek before sitting down. Skye had been walking back and forth to the mirror, looking at every angle of the dress. She then grabbed the small sapphire pendant necklace that I gave her for one of our anniversaries and put it on. "Malika, you sure about this dress? What is dad gonna say about it?" She said looking down at it. "Skye is that even a question? You look absolutely stunning in it, why would you be so worried?" Malika questions, walking over to Skye. "It's a bit revealing M, Dad's gonna hate me even more. He's never acted the same since I got the tattoo," She mumbles, messing with the flowers on the skirt of the dress. I pouted a bit, knowing that Yaser didn't actually feel that way towards Skye at all. "Oh baby sister, he doesn't hate you," Malika coos at Skye.

"How would you know?" She makes out, fighting herself from crying. "Because he's told all of us that he finds it quite mature for you to do something that risky and that he likes this new side of you," I interject, walking up behind her, tenderly wrapping her in a hug. "And if you think about it, you got a tattoo, is there anything else that you could possibly do that will upset him?" Malika asks, laughing a bit towards the end. "I guess so, plus this dress is cute anyway. Fuck him if he has a problem. This day is about you M," Skye laughs, realizing it was quite silly. "I guess that's an appropriate response," Malika and I laughed at her comment.

"Friends and Family, I now have the pleasure of presenting you, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Hernandez," The officiant says, quite happily. I got out of my seat, next to Ahmed and walked to the end of the runner to get pictures of the newlyweds. Once everyone processed out of the inset garden, I decided to stay behind and look out into the ocean. Damn Santa Barbara was beautiful. While sitting there, I thought to myself. In this very moment, I was so many things and there were so many more things that I could be. I was a high school graduate, and soon I was going to be a freshman at the University of California Berkeley, Skye would be attending University of California Los Angeles. I was going to be 367 miles away from my baby but we knew that we would make the distance. I was soon going to be a college graduate and I know from that point I will become an engaged man, this whole wedding thing, is definitely putting thoughts in my head. "What could my ever so sexy boyfriend be possibly thinking about?" Skye asking causing me to jump a little. She sat next to me, pulling my arm around her. "The future. You, me, us, everything really," I explain, still looking out at the ocean. "I think about the same things too. Our lives are gonna change, Luca. We aren't gonna see each other every day like we're used to. Doesn't that scare you?" She asks, shifting a bit to get a look at me. "Of course it does. But I trust you and I trust myself. We've been through a lot- I'm sure that we'll stick together through this," I explained, looking down and smiling at her.
