Dear Journal,
A step forward with you is one I'll cherish forever.

This is it, we're done. Goodbye Lakeview High, you've been somewhat a pleasure. The last four years of my life end in only a few hours. I paced my bedroom, my cap and gown still laid out on my bed in its respectable garment bag. "I just don't feel like it's what's right Skye," I argued with her, pausing for her response. "Yeah, I got it but this doesn't make any sense." This girl, I swear. "Fine, you know what fine," I said done with the argument. "I love you too," I grumbled, hanging up the phone.

I walked downstairs, into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle. "Luca, non dovete partire per la cerimonia?" Nonna asked, seeing me in sweatpants. " Sì, Nönna, ma non ci vorrà molto tempo per prepararsi," I explained to her, kissing the top of her head. "Il mio bambino, tutti cresciuti," she sighed, looking up at me from her 5'2" stature. "Ti amo. Ora non dimenticate che i Zamans ti stanno prendendo," I said, kissing her cheek before running up the stairs to my room.

"Alright, let's do this," I whispered to myself, pulling on my black, tailored dress pants, a white button-down shirt, and a black tie. I trudged into my bathroom and gelled my hair into my normal quiff, something I saw pointless because I'd just be putting my cap over it but Skye demanded it. I smirked and shook my head remembering that, she would get me to do anything. "The things we argue about," I whispered one last time in the mirror and walked out grabbing the garment bag that held my cap and gown. "Addio Nönna," I said before almost making it out the door. "Luca, immagini," she exclaimed, walking up to me with a camera. "Va bene," I sighed, walking out to the spot we always took pictures and did some poses, ranging from silly to serious. "Okay Nönna, devo andare," I said, kissing her cheek one last time before hopping into my car and driving to Skye's house.

Pulling up into the driveway, I could see the chaos that was ensuing through the windows. I chuckled and got out of the car, walking in knowing exactly where she'd be. I knocked three times on her bedroom door and waited for her to answer. I first heard a jingle of a collar and then the knob twisting. "What d- oh hey baby, sorry about that," she sighed, opening the door and letting me in. Nakia yipped and jumped once she saw me. I picked her up and placed a kiss on Skye's head. "It looks like a bomb went off down there," I joked, looking down at Nakia. "Tell me about it, I've only left my room three times. Once to get breakfast, another time to get ready and third to grab this little one." She sighed, sitting down next to me, placing her head on my shoulder.

"Kind of happy I'll get to be away from that for a while. You know at college and stuff, just being a, you know, a, well you get it," Skye rambled.
"You can't admit that we're becoming adults can you, baby girl," I questioned, looking down at her.
"No," she pouted, "but, I can admit that I'm already doing adult things," she said, straddling my lap and biting her lip.
"Hey, I'm all down for this right now but, between your family running around downstairs and the two us needed at the stadium, now is not the time princess."
"But-"
"No buts. I got you later, I promise," I reassure her, kissing her lips and trailing to her collarbone.

"Alright, let me change and then we can go," she muttered, getting off of me and trudging towards her walk-in closet. A few minutes passed until she walked out, "Wow," she wore a white dress, some fabric going lower in the back and some beige tie up stilettos. "They don't call you head cheerleader for nothing, love," I marvel at her. "Well, I think having the star quarterback as your boyfriend helps too," she smiled, playing with her hair. What? Didn't expect us to be that type? Yeah, not a lot of people do- we don't flaunt in that. We're students and people first. Everything else is secondary. But there were definite perks in being star quarterback and head cheerleader.

"Okay love, cmon." "Coming," she said, grabbing her garment bag and purse. She walked quicker than normal, kind of skipping, until she reached me, grabbing my hand and letting me lead her down the stairs. We didn't really say anything to anyone but caught Sarai's eye and let her know we were leaving. I opened Skye's door and hung up her garment bag on one of the hooks in the back of my car. "We got fifteen minutes to get there before anyone else," I said, looking down at my watch while I started the car. "Well get to it, pretty boy," Skye smiled, placing her arm behind my neck to play with my hair on the back of my head. We drove through Inglewood, singing loudly to the music on the radio, laughing and smiling.
