Journal,
The day she met my family.
As an Italian, you get used to the loudness and the constant chaos. But to someone who isn't- it's a totally different story. Skye comes from a mostly quiet Arab family, so this was a bit of culture shock for her.
But she pushed through, the other thing with us, being nosey is our thing. We like to know more than the average human. Weird, I know. But hey it's where I'm from 🇮🇹.
So obviously when you bring home someone who isn't Italian the questions start flying:
"Chi è questo Luca?"
"È lei italiana?"
"Arabo? Perché Luca?"
"Odiate il vostro famiglia, ah?"
" Oh signore ci aiuti!"Luckily back then, Skye didn't know too much Italian. I've told her they weren't so loving the first five minutes but they soon loved her. She was amazing that day.
I mean my family was tough but learned that I really loved Skye more than a friend. She meant more to me than they imagined.
They fell in love with her once she said she loved their food. Typical Italians always fishing for compliments. The picture above was taken on my Nönna's porch. I don't exactly remember what was occurring but I do remember feeling her laugh vibrate from her body and fizzle out once it reached mine.
I know this was pretty short but there's a lot I forgot but it doesn't make the story any less. Just know old friend, my Arabian princess will always stick around.
🇸🇦+🇮🇹=💕
