A/N: In case, you get confused....This scene is the continuation from the prologue. Enjoy the read.

Zach and Asher watch in shock as Dianna falls unconsciously on the cold hard floor. The minute Dianna's fragile body lands on the surface, Asher resurfaces from the shock and rush to her side.

"Dianna!" Zach shouts, running to his sister's aid.

"Dianna! Oh, god! Dianna, open your eyes." Asher exclaims, worry evident in his voice. His face pales watching the love of his life unconscious.

Outside, the dark sky is lit up bylightening as the thunderstorm are getting stronger and threatening. The small tapping on the window has changed into pitter-patter as the rainfall became heavier. The force of the wind wrench opens the window, shaking the tables and the chairs in its wake as the sound of the rainfall has all blurred into one long, whirring noise—like the sound of a rotor blades on helicopter.

"Dianna, please wake up." Asher pleads—his voice breaking. To say Asher is beyond shock would be an understatement. He can't understand what happened to Dianna all of a sudden. One moment she was fine—or as fine as a girl whose brother and boyfriend were fighting can be—and the next moment she is unconscious not to forget the part where she vomited blood.

The reminder forces Asher to block all the noises coming from the outside as his heart pounds dangerously loudly inside his chest that all the background noises drowns out from his mind. The only thing he can see is the unconscious Dianna and the only thing he can hear is the shallow breaths of her.

Asher's heart tightens seeing the puddle of blood and he looks away to caress Dianna's soft cheek which has turned pale, losing all of its usual charm.

Meredith and Jason crouches down to their level on either side of Dianna, fear etched on their pale faces.

"Shit! I knew she was hurt but she was too stubborn." Jason murmurs, his voice ambushed by tears.

"What the hell are you talking?" Asher asks, raising his head to look at his friend, Jason.

"When we were coming here, the weather was too bad and almost all the roads were blocked. But, she was too stubborn and kept speeding. I told her to slow down but she wasn't having any of it. Then, all of a sudden a tree fell down abruptly and we hit the tree." Jason explains with a pained expression, reliving the experience he had all over again.

"What?" Zach cries out horrified, his eyes darkening theshade of the dark clouds on the dark sky. "Then, why the fuck did you bring her here. You should have taken her to the hospital."

"I know and I tried to but you know your sister. She is damn too stubborn when she wants to be. She didn't give a flying fuck if she'd die. She just wanted to reach here before you do something stupid that you'd regret later." Jason argues with an accusing glare towards Zach.

Zach lowers his eyelids and curses profanities under his breath. As much as he hates it, he has to admit that it was true. He was too furious and mad when he stomped out of the house so it was obvious if she was worried. He wouldn't be surprised if he went back home now to find a broken door.

A pang of guilt hit Zach's heart. He should have never gone out of the house in this weather. His mother tried to stop him but he was too furious to acknowledge his mother's word. If he hadn't ventured out of the house in this storm, Dianna would have never come after him and she would have never been hurt. Tears gathers around his eyes, as he takes in his little sister's small fragile and unresponsive body.

"I didn't know her injury was this bad. She assured me that she was fine. I really believed her, man. I am sorry. I should have known." Jason apologizes, running a frustrated hand through his hair.

"That's alright. You tried your best. Right now, we need to bring her to the hospital." Asher suggests, trying his best to remain calm and collected when his insides were on the contrary to what he was showing in front of his friends.

A loud and ear-splitting thunder ricochets, nearly blowing up the tiny roof where they were all huddled inside. The rain didn't seem to stop anytime soon and everyone knew better than to assume that. Every single person in the town knew what was coming to their small town which had made them all lock up in their houses.

At the speed the storm were coming and how the rain was pouring down, half of the town must have already covered in water. Asher was well aware about this fact that it would be not an easy task if they were to bring Dianna to the hospital. But, first he will have to be sure that Dianna was alright.

He shut his eyes to block his mind when it starts to unravel unpleasant thoughts about Dianna's current condition. No, he will not let those horrendous thoughts cross his brain and break him. Right now is not the time to be weak. It is the time to be strong—not just for himself but for Dianna too. Dianna needs him and he won't fail her.

Dianna was always there for him and now he will be there for her no matter what. He will not lose her. Moreover, he is not ready to lose her. Not now, not never.

Asher looks at Meredith with a hope. "You are a doctor. Check up on her."

Taking a deep breath, Meredith leans down and puts her finger under her nose. "She is breathing."

"You can do better than that." Jason remarks, only to earn a scowl from Meredith.

"Shut up, I am trying here ok. It's not always you see your friend in this type of condition." She retorts.

"Just check up on her already." Zach barks. Meredith nods.

Outside, a flash of lightning appears through the slightly opened window, accompanied by loud thunders while rain is heavily pelting down on the roof.

Meredith holds Dianna's hand, checking for her pulse. Her eyes widens with panic. "Guys, we need to do something fast. Her pulse rate is dropping."
