1 month after her parents left her for a bigger and better life, Megan Parker sat on the front porch of her cousin's house, reading a book about her favorite movie, The Notebook. She only read about a chapter before her best friends texted her and asked her to meet them at their local coffee shop.  So she got in her car right away.  She lived about 5 minutes away from the coffee shop.

When she got there, only 3 of her 4 best friends were there already.

"Hey girls!  Where's Melanie?" she asked them.

"We don't know.  We texted her." said Hayley Mitchell, who had long, wavy brunette hair.

Just then, Melanie Fisher walked in.  She was wearing a tube top, short shorts, and wedges.  She always had to make a grand entrance. She ordered a caramel latte.  As usual.

"Hey girls!  Sorry I'm so late.  I had to help my brother with something.  So what's up?"

"Not much.  We all just got here" said Nicole Rivera, who had shiny, straight, black hair.

"So why are we all here?" Megan asked.

"We need to talk about school tomorrow." Hayley told the girls.

"Why? What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

"Melanie wants to talk about what we're gonna wear tomorrow." said Brooke Hayes, who was a redhead.

"Yes! So, I'm gonna wear a dress that I just got during the summer." Melanie said.

Tomorrow was the first day back to school. "What about you girls?"

"I was thinking about wearing a long skirt and a-"

"Sweetie.  No.You can't wear a long skirt! That's fashion suicide!" Melanie told Brooke before she could even finish her sentence.

"Ugh, you're all so glad that you have me here to guide you!" she shouted. Brooke half-smiled.

"Let's all go to my place so that I can help you girls pick out something to wear to school tomorrow." she said.

The girls followed Melanie out of the coffee shop and got in their cars.  A really cute guy ran out and stopped Megan before she could leave and gave her her wallet.  When she touched his hand, she felt a warm feeling that she had never felt before.

"Thank you." she said to him.  He smiled.

When they got to Melanie's house, they went straight to her bedroom.  She opened up her closet and pulled out 4 outfits for each of the girls to try on. When they put them on, she told them all of the pros and cons of wearing the outfits.  They were mostly all pros because she picked them out for the girls.  When they finally changed back into their own clothes, the girls went home with their new outfits from Melanie.

Megan lived with her aunt, uncle, and cousins.  They were 2 little kids. One boy and one girl.  She didn't have any siblings of her own, but they were like her little brother and sister.
