Chapter 13

When they got to Brooke's house, they saw a new car in the driveway.

Melanie.

Megan stepped out of the car and Nicole followed.

Megan rang the doorbell. Brooke's mom answered.

"Hi, Mrs. Hayes! We're here to see Brooke and Melanie." Megan said to Brooke's mom, who looked a lot like her, it was scary.

"Of course, girls! Come on in! They're in Brooke's room."

"Okay, thank you!" Megan said with a smile.

"You're welcome girls!!" Mrs. Hayes smiled back.

When they got into Brooke's room, she and Melanie were lying on her bed, probably gossiping about God knows what.

"What are you girls doing here?" Melanie asked.

"We should be asking you the same thing, but we already know the answer. Melanie, we know it was you who tortured Matt."

"Oh yeah? Prove it."

Megan held up Melanie's phone. "How did you get that???" she asked.

"Oh, we tracked it down. And when we got there it was just lying on the ground. Not too far from a knocked-out Matt."

"How do you know that it was me who tortured him?"

"Well, first of all, your phone explains a lot. And second of all, Alec told us everything."

Melanie had a super angry look on her face. "How did you know about him?"

"Oh, it was easy. I searched through your phone and I found his number, so I called him and pretended to be you. Oh! And when he asked you if you wanted to torture Brooke next, I declined it. Actually, I declined all torturings, for that matter. Oh! And by the way, thanks for not putting a passcode on your phone. That made is so much easier for me to rat you out." Megan was pissed, but she just had to get that out.

"Nicole, what do you have to say for yourself?" Melanie asked her.

"Well, all I have to say is that you're an evil bitch, and we're taking all of this to the police."

"With what proof? They're not going to believe you."

"Oh, that's easy. With this." Nicole held up her phone and played a recording of the phone call between Megan and Alec.

"You're done, Melanie. Get used to it." Megan stated.

"See? We're always one step ahead of YOU!" Nicole shouted.

"Well then where's Hayley?" Melanie asked.
