I always loved walking around in the city at night. The lights shined off of every sign, billboard, and apartment building. The cars rushing back and forth even at the latest of hours, it was beautiful. We walked into Mario's the new pizza place downtown, a bell ringing as we entered. The place had red and white checkered tiles, with white walls. Tables and booths filled with people just wanting to relax from a long day and have some pizza. Dominic's arm was protectively around me with my head leaning on his shoulder. Behind us where Rowan and Matias, hand in hand laughing.

"We're gonna go order the food, what do you ladies want?" Dominic asked us with his lovely british accent, brushing his curly brown hair our of his eyes.

"I'll have a slice of cheese pizza," I replied smiling, kissing him on the cheek.

"Rowan, what do you want?" Matias asked swinging Rowan's arm, his brown eyes still locked with hers.

"Ummm.. I'll have the same as Calypso, please."

"OK," Matias said kissing Rowan on the cheek. She blushed, smiling at him, and Matias winked at her which only made her blush harder. Matias always knew how to make Rowan feel like she was the only girl in the room, like right now.

"You girls find a table, yeah?" Dominic told us. Me and Rowan nodded and picked a booth near the flat screen playing a telenovela. I glanced over at Dominic and Matias, they were talking to each other about to order when Dominic looked over at me with his emerald eyes and winked. I smiled and turned back to Rowan, who was watching intently to the telenovela.

"So what's happened?" I asked.

"Well, apparently the the uncle is having an affair with his brothers wife and the oldest daughter knows, but she's keeping quiet because she's in love with her uncle's son, and her uncle's the only reason he's still there," Rowan explained without even looking away from screen.

"Intriguing," I said nodding. Rowan turned back to look at me.

"Remember 9th grade?" I laughed.

"Oh yeah, I totally remember 9th grade, that was an....interesting experience," Rowan burst out laughing.

"Can you believe Dominic actually liked me back? I used to think he could never like a girl like me. He's the best thing that ever happened to me!" I said in amazement. Rowan was grinning like an idiot.

"What are you smiling about?" I giggled.

"Cause I can't believe Matias liked me too, I was just about to give him a love potion or something!," Rowan exclaimed.

"Hola chica," Matias greeted, "y mi preciosa." Matias whispered in Rowan's ear and kissed her cheek. He sat down next to Rowan and wrapped his arm around her, brushing his dark brown hair against her cheek.

"Bonjour belle," Dominic said kissing me on my forehead, while sitting down wrapping his arm around me. I blushed and leaned my head on his shoulder.

"So what were you girls laughing about?" Dominic asked.

"Oh, just how Rowan was gonna use a love potion on Matias," I laughed. Matias laughed and looked at Rowan, rubbing her shoulder.

"Oh damn, we were just about to ask you out before the big secret came out,"

"Hey," Matias said, "What the hell happened in 9th grade, you guys were on the news, but you didn't come to school for a while either?" I glanced at Rowan as her smile was fading. I looked over at Dominic, he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear that revealed a big scar on my face. A small tear escaped my eye, he caught it with his thumb and wiped it away.

"Every scar tells a story, a story of how brave you are, how did you get this one?" Dominic asked in a soft voice. I stared over at Rowan whose face was now buried in Matias' chest. Rowan looked up,

"Should we?"

"We can't hide it forever."

Matias' face saddened as he had realized he upset us.

"Nevermind, you don't have to tell us if you don't want to-" he told us.

"Yeah, you can tell us when you're ready-" Dominic continued.

"No-" Rowan blurt out, cutting both Matis and Dominic off.

"We want to..." I assured them. They both straightened out, and stared at us. Rowan spoke out.

"It all started when we were walking home from school that day..."
