My legs ached, I couldn't keep it up much longer. My sides started to cramp and my heart was pounding. I turned back to see Calypso behind me, but nobody else, so I made one last turn towards a big tree and hid behind it. Calypso stood next to me, trying to get the air back into her lungs. We were pressed against the tree our chests quickly moving up and down.
"Calypso," I whispered. "I found a pen and paper back at the house," I took them out of my jean pocket and handed it to her.
"We can write a note," She told me still panting. Calypso grabbed the pen and paper and started to write.
"Ill check to see if any of them are around," I told her, she nodded and kept writing. I peeked out from behind the tree. It was so peaceful, I looked over and walked around quietly trying not to make much noise other than the crush of dry leaves under me. I tried to look further to see if anyone was coming our way, but the thick trees blocked my view. I swiveled around to get back to Calypso, but suddenly an arm came up and wrapped around my neck.
"Shhh," the man whispered. I looked up to see it was Calypso's dad, Ryan.
"You're very pretty, Rowan. They're gonna like you," He whispered in my ear.
"Calypso!" I screamed. He smacked me and pulled out a knife.
"So you wanna play it that way bitch, fine." Calypso popped out from behind the tree with the hammer in her hand. Ryan lifted up my chin to place the blade underneath at an angle. I squirmed around, but he pressed the knife harder into my skin.
"Shhh, shhh," He told me. "Calm down baby, just listen to me and you'll be alright." I silently cried making my vision become blurry.
"Let her go!" Calypso yelled, stepping closer to him. Ryan began to press the knife into my skin, I could feel blood dripping down my neck.
"You don't get to talk to me like that little shit," He scoffed. "One wrong move and the bitch is dead." I clawed at his arm attempting to get loose, but his grip only got tighter.
"Hey I found the little shits!" Ryan called out into the woods, leaving eye contact. My chest tightened as I began to lose feeling in my limbs. I could barely make out anything but Calypso. She took the hammer and threw it directly at Ryan. It smashed right into his head, I heard a loud crack before I felt him release me. I got out of his arms and fell to the floor coughing and gasping for air. I put my hand up to my neck to feel the cut, when I looked at my hand it was covered in blood. Calypso ran over to me and helped me up. I hugged her, while sobbing into her shoulder,
"I almost died, Calypso, I love you."
"I love you too," she said back. "Now we gotta get out of here." Calypso grabbed my hand and pulled me along side her. We only made it a couple yards before we crashed into someone.
"Hmmm, there's the little sluts." He announced to the others. They circled around us, keeping us from getting out. We tried to push through them, but they were strong, even the skinny one. The biggest one with the tattoos picked us up by the waist and through us over his shoulder. I kicked his chest, but he just laughed. Calypso and I pounded on his back and kicked his chest, but nothing worked. I looked up and in the distance, I could see the van. When we got there, the skinny one opened the doors and the big one who was carrying us threw us inside. I landed on my back and groaned arching my back. Calypso landed on top of me, causing me to grip my stomach and roll over.
"Stop! Please don't!" Calypso begged them as they climb into the van with handcuffs and duct tape. They ignore her cries and shoved gags in both our mouths. The biggest ones restrained us with the handcuffs. I stand up, but the round faced one pushes me hard to the floor of the van.
"She's a quick one now, isn't she?" The round faced one chuckled.
"Yeah, seems like she likes it rough," The skinny one said. I shook my head to say no, but he grabbed my head and moved it so I did a nod.
"Oh look at that she does like it rough," He smiled and straddled my torso. I twisted and turned, but the round faced one held my feet to the ground
"You're mine, slut," He whispered huskily in my ear. I started to cry uncontrollably. I looked over at Calypso who was getting felt up by the one with the tattoos and crying also. Her eyes were tightly shut, but tears still escaped. I started to feel dizzy and everything seemed to get darker.
"I can't wait," was the last thing I heard.
