i bask in her light
to keep myself warm,
to keep myself sane,
to survive.
i let the light drink me up
as i drink it in with my skin.
streams of sunshine enter my pores
like i am a tree, consuming the sunlight
through my skin of leaves.
and as dusk falls upon me
i feel where the light once was.
it burns like her love,
it burns like the sun.
