I have a Buddy Holly biography called Rave On by Philip Norman
According to the biography, Buddy was approached by a girl he had a former fling with in mid-1957 (right before he got big) who claimed she was pregnant with his kid. His family supposedly talked the girl's family out of a shotgun wedding and even paid the girl so she could go have the baby and put it up for adoption. Supposedly, it was a boy. Sooooo, assuming that it's true and the son is alive, that means there's a man in his late 50s/early 60s somewhere in the US who may not know that he is Buddy Holly's only child (this could also mean that Buddy has grandkids as well).
