So, I don't remember what my grandmother said her last name was, but I have an ancestor named Hannah who came to (what would eventually become) America with her husband from the Netherlands in the 1680s. Soon after she and her husband (whom we don't know the exact name of) came to America, they were attacked by Indians. They had no children and the husband was killed while Hannah (who was 23 when this all happened) was taken hostage. She was tortured—starved, beaten, even possibly sexually abused—and the Chief of the tribe or whatever it was that took her was considering killing her, but another Indian took pity and helped her escape.
She ended up marrying a (what was considered at the time) very wealthy man and ended up having something like, 20 kids with. She ended up living until she was 110! Which means, assuming she was born sometime in the 1660s, she would've died sometime in the 1770s!
