Chapter Fifteen

“So… what should I do with this coffin? I can’t show my mom.” I wondered aloud. “And I have to be home in twenty minutes.” I paced around the chest that contained the ‘Were-Pire’, who was still very alive and talking. But Shikamaru and I were just ignoring her.

“Hey!! Are you going to let me out, you little brat?!” Maualei yelled and I simply smirked at her.

“Hey, let’s bury her.” I said and used my vampire speed and strength to dig a hole that was very deep down. Shikamaru just looked at me in awe. I easily pulled the coffin over and let it tumble into the earth. Then I buried it with the access dirt and planted a few weeds over the dirt pile so it looked like I didn’t dig into it. I sighed and looked over to Shikamaru. “Boy am I happy that she is dead. She has caused a lot of havoc for me.” He stood up and walked to me.

“Now I can finally do what I’ve wanted to do.” He whispered while inching toward my face. I gazed up to him through my long eyelashes and smiled. He was just too cute sometimes!

“Shika…” I whispered.

“Taintie...”

That’s when our lips touched. It was like an electricity shock running up and down my spine. I wrapped my arms around Shikamaru’s neck to pull him closer as his wrapped around my waist.

But time passed and I knew that Shikamaru needed to breathe. I pulled away and he breathed in little gasps. I smiled and kissed his nose.

“What does this make us?” I whispered finally.

“Whatever you want it to be.” He replied back with a playful little grin playing on his lips. I stuck my tongue out at him before pausing.

“What do you think our parents will think of us?” I asked and then I frowned deep in thought. Mom would probably think I’m a threat and cannot control myself around him.

“I think my parents would be okay with it and your parents… I think that they’d be fine.” I sighed and looked up in the sky.

“Well, do you want to come over for dinner?” I asked and he looked at me uncomfortably, but I simply smiled at him. “I think my mom is making an Italian dinner tonight, I’m pretty sure you’d like it.” Then I seemed to get why he was so uncomfortable. “There won’t be any icky vampire stuff there Shika.” I whispered and he smiled at me. He kissed my forehead and looked into my eyes.

“I’m not worried about that silly. Well, I was a little but that wasn’t what I was mainly worried about. Do your parents like me?” I erupted in giggles and put my hand on his chest.

“Shika, my parents love you!” I told him and he grinned.

“Then I guess I’ll come.” He held out his hand for me to take and I gladly accepted. We made our way to my house in a peaceful silence.

“Mom? Can Shikamaru stay for dinner?” I asked and she eyed our linked hands, making me kind of nervous. What was she thinking?

“Hm…” she said. Then something in her mind clicked and she smirked widely. “When’s the wedding? Am I going to have to tell you the Birds and Bee’s story?” I glared at her and from the corner of my eye I saw Shikamaru blushing a deep red.

“Mom!!!” I hissed and she laughed.

“It’s alright, I’m okay with this.” She motioned to the two of us, but pointed at Shikamaru. “But you know our secret; you know the risk that you are taking.” I glanced at Shikamaru and he nodded.

“I fully know the risk that I am taking, Mrs. Hatake.” I saw three heads pop in from the doorway and I rolled my eyes when it was my three idiot guardians. I tugged on Shikamaru’s hand and we walked into the living room, me flicking Hidan in the head before he could say anything and he flew back into the wall, creating a dent. I groaned.

“I’m probably going to have to fix that.” I muttered to myself and Shika laughed from my side.

“Shikamaru,” my mom called from the door and we both looked up at her. “I’m going to tell Shikaku that you are staying for dinner, is that alright?” she asked innocently and I narrowed my eyes at her. She wouldn’t go all the way there just to do that.

“Yeah, sure.” Shikamaru answered and I opened my mouth to protest, but she was gone before my voice came out.

“Damn.” I mumbled and he looked at me with a raised brow, clearly wanting me to tell him what was wrong. “You know my mom well enough to know that she wouldn’t go to your house just to say you’re staying for dinner.” I flashed him a small smile as he seemed to think about that.

“Huh.” He grunted after a minute and I sighed, sitting on the comfortable couch and shooting Deidara an irritated look because he sat right next to me, making Shikamaru squeeze in to sit down.

“So, who’s your boyfriend?” Deidara asked with a smug smile. I smirked at him.

“Shikamaru Nara. Who’s your boyfriend?” He smirked back at me.

“Sasori of the sand, un.” I anime fell and my eyes went wide.

“You’re gay?!?” I asked astonished. I knew he wore a lot of pink frilly aprons and dresses when he was in the house and still girly clothes when we leave the house, but I’d never imagine him to be gay! I just thought he was a tranny! Deidara’s cheeks flared.

“W-well… kind of…” I jumped up and fist pumped.

“Yosh! I’ve always wanted a sister!” Everybody laughed but Deidara, who was still blushing like crazy.

My dad took that chance to step in the house. All heads turned to him and he sweat dropped.

“Hello Shikamaru, are you staying for dinner?” he asked politely and Shika nodded once.

“If I knew it would be such a drag, then maybe I would’ve had second thoughts…” we all laughed at his response and I jumped up.

“I’m going to be right back, okay?” I turned to Shikamaru just in time to see him nod. I ran up my stairs and into my bedroom, where Sasuke had sprawled out on my bed.

“Sasuke.” I whispered and he looked up with a harsh glare.

“What have you done? I can’t hear her anymore!” he said and I glared right back at him.

“You better get up and go somewhere other than Konoha. I have taken care of Maualei.” His face seemed to brighten up a little and he hopped off of my bed.

“So long, this is the last time I will see you.” He said and took a step closer. I backed up a few steps and waved my hand.

“I know, now go away, my boyfriend is downstairs.” That caught his attention. I wonder why…

“Who’s your boyfriend? Naruto?” I laughed a little, shaking my head.

“No, but he’s my best friend. Shikamaru Nara. Now that you know, you need to go.” Sasuke sighed but then disappeared. I mentally cheered.

So long, Sasuke-kun!
