Prologue
She had been looking at this scenery for a while now. It was a small road beside a few tall apartment buildings, and a bus stop rested in between them. A man wearing a straw hat, red checkered shirt and blue overalls was sitting underneath the shelter. All was quiet. Too eeriely quiet, actually. The roads were deserted. The chirping of birds could not be heard. And something felt off about that man, but she was unable to comprehend it at the moment.
A bus came, and a boy alighted at the stop. From the girl's angle, she could only make out the shape of the boy through the windows. It was only when the bus drove off did she get a clearer view of him. He had dark red hair, and his uniform and build suggested him to be a teenager. Slinging his bag, he was about to walk towards the apartment building when he noticed the person sitting at the bus stop.
She watched on, as the boy gasped in horror when the man stood up, removing his hat as his mouth widening into an evil grin. From his messy black hair, two small horns sprouted out, and his rows of teeth were razor sharp.
The girl realised the boy was facing a demon. She tried to intervene, to help, but her body would not move. She could only stare, helpless.
The demon started to attack the boy. The first blow, much to her relief, missed the boy. The girl felt it was her duty to help the boy. No, she came to realise that she had been born to help him. She yelled at the boy to escape, to run as far as possible, but no sound came out from her throat. She tried to defend the boy, but her body would not budge, as though she was trapped by some invincible force. She could only watch, helpless, as the demon pierced his hand through the boy's body. The demon laughed loudly as the boy coughed blood and hung limp on the demon's arm. With a smug grin, the demon tilted his head and stared right at the girl, licking the red liquid trickling down his hand, as though saying, too bad.
The girl's eyes snapped open, as she saw the ceiling of her room. She realised she was breathing heavily. Calming herself down by taking deep breaths, she got up into a sitting position in her bed. A thin layer of cold sweat dotted her skin, and she used her blanket to wipe it off, her hands shivering uncontrollably.
"No, get out of it, it was just a dream, it was just a dream...he couldn't be dead yet..." The girl told herself. But she knew, it was more than just a dream. It was a vision. A future of an untimely death if she did not interfere.
Getting out of bed , she saw that the artifical night sky had been turned off. It was morning now. She knew what to do.

The girl looked at the mirror for the final time. What was reflected from the mirror was a very beautiful teenager with long scarlet hair wearing a spotless white dress. After making sure her hair was combed and the creases of her dress were smoothed out, she nodded to herself and stepped out of her house. Her parents were not at home, so she had left a note informing where she would have gone to by the time they returned home.
The stone pavement felt cool to her bare feet, and smooth, from repeated usage of the townspeople. Nobody wear shoes here. Not in this town, anyway. They only wore footwear for special occassions.
The girl hastened her footsteps at the thought of the dream. Fuelled by her unease and discomfort, she broke into a run, only to stop in front of what looked like a frame. A huge hollow rectangle made of white marble stood before her at the edge of the forest. A purple swirl filled the insides of the frame, and looking at it for too long made the girl sick. The girl raised her hand, and the purple swirl turned red.
Red means danger. I better hurry.
With this thought, she took in a deep breath. A pair of feathery wings sprouted from her back and a halo levitated above her head, shining brightly.
"Alright. Let's go to Nobiah!" The girl yelled to herself, and jumped through the frame, the portal to the world called Nobiah. Or more frequently known as the Human World.
