Chapter 4: We fight an invincible black blob
Part 1
Okay, so we had to fight a demon that wanted to eat us up. Great. But wait a minute...it could talk?
"I will just ask one thing, demon. How many souls have you eaten in this bulding?"Angela questioned.
"Hmm, none, actually. I had wanted to start with somebody of high spiritual power, and the two of you are here, so I'd start eating you. And that Slayer who doesn't seem strong at all. Oh, and the girl behind. I get to taste two hot chicks today. Not bad. I can't wait to devour your sexy asses." The demon said in a muffled voice. It seriously could talk even without a mouth! And it was a pervert!
"I can hear you, boy. I can see without eyes, and I can talk without a mouth, I can hear without ears, and I can read people's thoughts. And I am not a pervert. I'm just interested in them. Aren't you, too?" The blob said.
Hell no! And this was invasion of privacy! What are you anyway? You look like goo!
"Too bad you're not interested. If you did, then maybe your imaginations and fantasies could create another demon. Another comrade for us. Oh well, forget it. And I'm a blob. Get it right. Not goo. Enough said. Shall we begin?" the blob gestured at us with its hands to attack it.
This self-proclaimed blob really could read my mind, huh.
Angela needed no second invitation. She charged at the blob, ready to slice it. The blob just stood there, and Angela mercilessly hacked at it, slicing it neatly into half.
I cheered mentally, thinking that it was over. How wrong I was. The upper blob started sticking back to the lower blob, and the blob was one again. It took Angela's attack and was unhurt! How would I stand a chance?
"You don't boy. Because all three of you would not make out of here alive! And you, the trembling girl!" The blob pointed at Rose, who was indeed trembling. "You will really die here!" The blob threw its head back (or at least what I thought was the head) and let out a high pitch laugh.
I looked at Rose, who was trembling and she looked awfully pale. I did not know why I did it, but I slid my fingers into hers and squeezed her hand. I looked directly into her eyes and said," It's gonna be alright, Rose. I'll protect you."
Rose nodded silently, and I could feel her hands were not trembling as much anymore. I slowly released my hand from hers, and turned to look at the blob demon.
The blob laughed again and its arms grew into swords. Angela raised her sword and attacked the blob again, this time her sword coated with white energy. I knew I needed to help her too.
I pressed the diamond stud on my weapon, and the black part glowed gold again. The gold energy beam sword shot out, and I joined the battle. It seems like the weapon knew exactly when I wanted to summon the sword.
Angela was fast enough to deflect and dodge all the blob's attacks, but her attacks also missed the blob. I was way worst.
"If that light touches me, it's going to be painful for me. Lethal too. So I better avoid those blades!" The demon said as it twisted its body this way and that.
"But to just dodge won't do. I guess a little bit of pain won't really do much. With that, the blob attacked Angela and me simutaneously, its right sword fighting with Angela while its left arm was engaged in a battle with mine. I tried to fend its attacks, but it was fast. I got scratches here and there, and I was not hurting the blob at all.
The blob's arms seemed to be working individually from the body. It was either the demon was smart enough to control its arms or maybe because its arms went into auto-mode.
