Chapter 3: A demon attacks

Part 1

"Ready?" I called out to Angela.

"Almost!" Angela replied from my room.

It was the next morning, and since Angela moved in, my room had practically became hers. My apartment only had a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. It was meant for me to live by myself, so it was alright for me, until yesterday, when the house suddenly became way squeezier. But at least this apartment had quite a large living room.

My grandmother, before her death, had somehow foresaw that I would be living alone in the future, or maybe it was because she knew she would not live too long, so she bought this apartment for me from a distant relative who sold it to her at a low price.

That was after my parents' death. Soon after, my grandmother passed on peacefully in her sleep. Thinking about my grandmother made me feel sad, so I shook my head to get rid of these thoughts.

"You've been in there for aeons! We need to go!" I yelled. "What's taking you so long?"

Then there was a click and Angela came out wearing my school's uniform, with a shy look on her face as she adjusted her skirt.

"Do...do I look weird?" Angela asked timidly.

"You look wonderful!" I exclaimed, nodding my head in approval.

Angela looked kind of cute and prettt at the same time. She was giving out this charm that made her look more attractive then when I first saw her. But strangely, my heart was not beating so quickly as compared to the previous times. Maybe I was really treating her more like family then a beautiful girl of my age.

"Let's get going." I said. Though I really have a bad feeling that things would go for the worst as the day continue.

And after grabbing our bags and putting on our shoes, we headed out. Well, I also had an additional parcel with me.

As we walked down the street and  neared the crossroad, I caught sight of this girl with brown hair. Don't tell me its...

"Oh, isn't it Raymond? And---" Rose said when she noticed me, but she paused when she saw who was beside me.

Rose acted like she met us coincidentally, but I could see that she was already here for quite some time, waiting for me. I wonder why?

"Good morning! My name is Angela, and I am Raymond's cousin. I will be living here and going to your school from today onwards!" Angela introduced with a slight bow.

"Oh...okay. Hi there, Angela. I'm Rose, from Raymond's school too. Nice to meet you." Rose extended a hand, and shook Angela's hand firmly. She looked slightly disappointed.

Rose asked, "You're living with Raymond?"

"Yes." Angela answered immediately. Hey hey hey, did you need to be so direct? After all I told her I was living alone.

"Ehhh? You...you're living with him? Together? Only two people in a house?" Rose exclaimed as she jumped back, shocked. "Two...a boy and  girl...in one house..."

"Hmm? Is there a problem?" Angela asked while tilting her head.

"No...nothing," Rose replied after breathing deeply to try and calm herself down. What was she thinking about? Though I already knew vaguely.

The three of us walked down the streets, and I could see we were gathering stares. Who would not stare to look at an angel anyway? But the two girls were oblivious and were talking to each other.
