Returns and tears

Part 10 - Niall

Don't you hate it when all your parents care about is your attendance, yesterday at school was the worst day of my life, all I heard was people laughing and make remarks about how Rae would never want me, it was all a lie etc and then I saw her,the look of her face could show me how upset she generally was whether is was to do with embarrassment or she was actually upset about the whole situation I wasn't completely sure on that.

Right now I was sitting in my science class during our second period and considering we only have three periods in one day I wasn't complaining, the school day was nearly over which means it was on step closer to the weekend and I wouldn't have to put up with the humiliation of what had happened this week.

As the bell rang signalling the end of the lesson I slung my bag over my should walking out meeting Kate at my classroom since Tuesday she's been really helpful she's allowed me to explain everything I feel towards Rae and just sat there and listened rarely voicing her opinion although she has said that if things between Rae and I worked out it would be good for me which I had to agree, knowing that the most beautiful girl in the whole school loved me would really boost my confidence

"How you feeling today?" Kate asked as me started walking in the corridors, things had died down today and only the odd few people were making comments about the situation but it wasn't anything I hadn't handled before

"Better, I tried not to come in today but of course my dad wouldn't allow that apparently if I'm not going to find love I need to be good at something at least"

"He's an arse Ni, he'll be eating his words soon, I know it" I gave her a smile hoping what she said was right

"Thank you Kay for everything" she gave me a smile pulling me into a side hug

"That's what best friends are for" i put my arm around her shoulder as we shared a little hug then carried on walking

"Niall" I turned around to where the noise was coming from as I saw Tilly jogging towards me, this was strange, she's Raes' best friend and I don't know why she would ever be talking to me let alone calling my name in the corridor.

"Yes" I said raising an eyebrow as she stood infront of me

"I need to talk to you alone please" she looked towards Kate them sharing some sort of knowing look as Kate nodded

"I'll be just over there" she said as she walked over to her locker, I looked back towards Tilly as I sent her a look to carry on with what she was going to be saying

"Rae asked you to give me this" she handed me my black iPhone which I had actually missed, right now I was sporting an old Nokia and it was good to have my trusted phone back in my hands. "There's a note on the back and Niall keep your promise and come to the game tomorrow please, she's got it just as bad as you" with that she walked leaving me confused, how did she know I promised to come to the game, I even forgot that so why would Rae remember it, I guess a promise is a promise though and I really should go even if I have to leave because I can't take it anymore.

Remembering what she said about the note of the back I turned my phone over to see a hand written message on a lined piece of paper that had been ripped around it

'Niall I'm so sorry<3'

I read that over and over again, confusion was in my mind, what was she sorry for? The message was so short that it didn't change the situation but yet them four words made my heart flutter, and the fact she added a heart to it made a little smile appear on my face, maybe things weren't over. maybe we had a chance is this crazy fairy tale we had built up for our selves
