Part 12 -Niall

The sound of my mum's shoes echoed through the house until she finally got into the kitchen, she was yet to notice Rae as she came over giving me a kiss on the cheek as always when she got home.

"Something smells lovely in here" my mum said as he eyes moved to the hob where Rae was standing pouring more water in, her eyes stayed fixed on the pan.

"Oh Niall you didn't tell me you had a friend over?" She looked questionably from Rae to I as I slide off the counter

"Yeah I didn't know till after school she would be round, mum this is Rae, Rae this is my mum" Rae's bright blue eyes turned to look up at me as I noticed her gulp

"It's nice to meet you Mrs Horan" she gave a nervous smile which I've hardly ever seen Rae do, she always seems to be so strong and unphased but right now she was nervous to meet my mum, one of the most down to earth people I know if she needs to be nervous when meeting anyone it would be my dad.

"Don't be silly darling call me Maura" my mum made her way over to Rae engulfing her into a hug, she loosely hugged her back seeing more relaxed now "what are you cooking sweetie?"

"Paella, Niall told me it was your favourite and it's my favourite dish to cook"

"That's wonderful, such a change from the pizza Niall would usually be muddling up for us on his cooking day, one day a week he has to cook and one day a week we always have pizza" Laughter left Rae's mouth at the fact my mum was teasing my terrible cooking skills

"Yeah he tried to offer me pizza tonight but I said we would cook a proper meal for you and your husband but so far Niall hasn't helped" they both looked at me, Rae with a playful smirk and my mum with just the usual look of when it comes to me and cooking food

"You really need to learn to cook if you pursue in having Rae round for dinner dates Niall" my mum teased me again

"Oh no mum we aren't date-"

"Yeah I think he does" Rae cut me off as noticed a smile appear on my mums face possibly at the fact that I've finally maybe got the chance of having a girlfriend.

"Well anyway I'm going to get out of these work clothes and into something a little more comfortable" mum said as she walked out of the kitchen heading up the stairs, I turned back to Rae who nodded her head signalling for me to go to her which I did, I put my arms around her waist again which she seemed to like last time, since our journey in the car I felt a lot more comfortable around her, she was open to joking around about anything which made me enjoy her company.

"So when do you plan on cooking me dinner?" she said tasting the rice to see if it was cooked or not, but the scrunch of her face I guess it wasn't done yet or it was far too hot for her

"Well when do you fancy pizza?" I joked back with her

"I'll let you know when it's my craving"

"How about we make a deal, you make the dinner and I'll bring the junk and movies?" I tickled the back of her neck with my nose resulting in her trying to push me away with her back and bum, my grip tightened as I nuzzled my face to her neck

"How about no, you can make one dinner and I'll even allow it to be pizza"

"Then we have a deal" being around Rae I couldn't help but smile like right now my cheeks hurt from the amount I had smiled since we were in the parking lot, my body swayed lightly her moving with me as I placed feather kisses along her neck.

"Try some" with a spoon from the side she had used early she spooned a little bit of rice out lifting it up for me to taste

"Blow on it first please" she shook her head but doing what I had asked her to do and bringing it back to my lips for me to try
