[Chapter 28- Life or Death]
---
He watches as a doctor and some nurses surround her body, their frantic movements and words echoing throughout the room. He hears sobs and he looks over towards the door of the room to see her parents being shoved out of the room as a loud and constant beep rings, signalling the familiar sound of a no longer beating heart. He sighs in pity as he looks back towards the panicked nurses. "Clear", one of the nurses speak and a high pitched electric noise sounds from the defibulator as it's placed over her chest.
"Jungkook!"
He winces at his name being called and he can hear footsteps running towards him from behind. The voice sounded female, so he can only assume that the girl that had called his name is calling out to a different Jungkook.
Sadly, he was wrong. He can feel the presence of the girl behind him and he slowly turns to face her. His tired eyes widen at the realization of who this girl is and he involuntarily takes a step back. He immediately thinks of Jimin and guilt creeps up his gut.
The girl, who he recognized as Jihyun, gives him a small smile and his gut twists in response. He notices how her lips curve to form a smile, but her eyes don't show any sort of hints of her true emotions. He knows this is her fake smile because he has seen it on his friends before and frankly, he has used it himself too.
"You're Jungkook, right?" Jihyun asks to interrupt his thoughts and he can only nod slowly while looking around. He can't be caught talking to her or else the guy he had talked with earlier could be after her. But, all of the other students continue to walk by without notice. A couple of kids give Jihyun a weird look, but she only ignores them as she continues to stand in front of the boy she had been wanting to talk to.
His eyes continue to frantically look around though. He doesn't want the girl in front of him to get hurt because of his foolish mistake or talking to her-
Suddenly, to distract his thoughts, Jihyun waves her hand in front of his face to catch his attention again. Jungkook tries to remember the question she had asked him earlier to answer it quickly to get away from this girl."Oh uh- sorry. Yea I'm Jungkook... What do you want?" He remembers and responds to Jihyun with a rude tone. He realized how slow his voice had come off and how tired it had sounded as well. He hates when he sounds so pathetic and he has to swallow thickly to get rid of the thoughts of his friends that never seem to stop rushing through his skull.
"I was wondering if you knew where Jimin was?" Jihyun asks nervously and this snaps Jungkook out his thoughts once again. A swirl of guilt bites into his gut and he feels the urge to cry out, but instead he hides it by putting on a 'shield' to hide his true emotions. His eyes grow dark at Jihyun's question and he sighs at the thought of Jimin...
Jimin... I miss you being actually here with me...To hide his thoughts, he rolls his eyes and shrugs his shoulders quickly. He tries to come off as irritated as he maneuvers around the other students to have her lose sight of him. He doesn't want to come off as rude, but he has to. He knows that he must keep his distance from everyone...
He suddenly remembers the memory of her walking up to him in the hallways of the school and he grits his teeth at the memory of Jimin looking so lost without her.
He remembers how kind Jimin was and how sweet his smile used to be, especially around the rest of their group with Jihyun tagging along as well. He remembers how often he could see Jimin being Jihyun's tail, following her around on occasion and she would do the same. His friend always seemed so happy to be with her that the day he had found out that one of his best friends had killed himself, was the day that everything went to hell.
