Chapter 16

[A/N] Hello once again, audience! Guess whose homework is taking up all of our time. Sophie and Elsie's! Yaaaaaaaay! That's actually not a yay. I want to cry a little bit. However, we apologize for the delay in chapter. We still love you. ♥

After their day of watching films upon Niall's request. Harry fell asleep draped across Louis' lap, and Louis was perfectly content at staying up while all the others went to bed so Harry could sleep, but Liam waved a hand, "I've got this."

Much to Louis' surprise, Liam hoisted Harry into his arms, drawing only an incoherent mumble from the boy. Louis made a strangled sound, "How-"

"Well," Liam chuckled as Louis clumsily climbed to his feet to follow. "I can use my legs properly, and Harry looks like a lot of boy, but he's light as hell."

Louis frowned as they entered the back bedroom and Liam confusedly placed Harry on the two beds pushed together, "How light is that?"

"Light," Zayn supplied, chuckling as Niall walked into the room as well, going over to his bed and falling onto it before using his arms to lift his legs up with him.

"Oh," the prince replied, examining the sleeping curly haired human that snuggled up with the comforter.  "I mean, I could lift him in the water, but lots of things are lighter in the water. And up here they're heavier."

"Pretty much," Liam agreed, rubbing his hands together and nodding his head slowly. "Alright... goodnight Louis, goodnight Niall."

"Wait!" Louis protested, stumbling slightly after Liam. "I, um, in the bathroom that spray of water-"

"The shower," Liam supplied.

"Yes, how do I work it again?" he asked softly.  "And how do I keep that burning slimy stuff from getting in my eyes?"

"You don't be an idiot," Niall supplied. "Shower tomorrow, your human will probably help you then."

Louis shot Niall a glare, but Liam had patted Louis' shoulder, "Thanks for today, Louis. It's a good thing Harry has you now, seeing as I wasn't much help to him."

"You would have found him," Louis replied, but he blushed at the praise and the thought of belonging to Harry, the thought of Harry having him.

Zayn and Liam left the room, leaving Louis to shut off the light when he wanted. The switches weren't much different from the ones underwater, he just assumed that they weren't powered by electric eels. He clumsily changed into some pajamas he found in Harry's drawer, figuring the boy wouldn't mind, and then flipped off the light. Panic instantly spiked through him as he stumbled to try and find his bed in the dark. He managed to trip, yelping as he fell. Harry's voice suddenly croaked out through the dark, "...What- Lou?" 

"Think he's on the floor," Niall mumbled sleepily. 

"Um," Louis whispered, slightly frantic and too afraid to push himself up from his face down position on the floor. "Can someone help me before the trench demons-" 

Harry giggled then, and Louis felt hands gently pulling at him. He squeaked until Harry's voice soothed in his ear, "It's just me."

Louis craned his head around and tried to help Harry to the best of his ability in the process of standing up. Harry gently pecked Louis on the cheek, leading him through the dark to the bed and letting him climb in first. He almost automatically wiggled forward to snuggle against Louis, and Louis wrapped an arm around the younger boy in surprise, "Thank you, Harry."

"Thank you," Harry hummed. "You're warm. And you smell like the ocean. Not the icky rotten seaweed kind either, the good smell."

"You smell kind of sweet..." Louis murmured, laying in the perfect position to press his nose to Harry's curls. "Like the slimy stuff. Tomorrow will you stand in the bathroom with me so I can shower?"
