Louis stared in awe at the two tanned legs before him, reaching out and poking one, "Oh my Neptune..." 

"How..." Harry croaked. 

"I don't know," Louis shook his head. "The Great Book never mentioned this." 

"The... what?" 

"Never mind."

"Well at least we know your tail isn't going to dry out," Harry whispered. 

"I'm not wearing the things that you're wearing..." Louis pointed to the curly haired lads shorts. 

"Pants, just hold on..." Harry placed his head in his hands. "Still trying to get over the legs thing." 

"Harry!" Louis said excitedly. "I can come up on land with you now so you don't have to be afraid to swim... I'll still teach you, but-" 

"How are you so calm about this?" Harry asked in disbelief. 

"As a prince, I'm pretty good at just accepting. I accepted you easy enough, didn't I?" Louis arched an eyebrow. 

A smile slipped onto Harry's face, "You're quite sassy, your highness." 

"No," Louis whined. "Don't call me your highness I'm Lou, just Lou. Maybe Louis. But... I'm not the prince of you, so..." 

"So... if you get back in the water..." Harry's face became serious again, and he tried to focus on Louis' legs instead of the area between the boys... legs. "What happens?"

"I don't know," Louis shrugged. "I don't want to get back in again either, what if my tail comes back and I never get legs again?" 

"We'll just continue talking the way we did before?" Harry offered. The younger lad pulled off his shirt and offered it to Louis. "Um... here, cover your lower half with this. Being naked is unfortunately socially unacceptable. I'll run back to my uncle's and get you some pants." 

"See, my tail usually hides this stuff," Louis said nonchalantly. "We've got these, too."

"What?" Harry froze in the midst of getting up. 

"This!" Louis gestured to his crotch. "Manhood and what not. I figure since I have one in human form, you do too? Our tails hide it." 

"So what if you all are... how do you... like, obviously you have to..." Harry muttered, sitting back down again.

"Are you trying to ask how we have sex?" Louis giggled.

Harry blushed, "Just for you know... I'm curious as to how you reproduce?" 

"Sure," Louis smirked. "We um... well, mermen and mermaids have different types of lower halves. I bet it's the same with you all since I have the same lower half in my merman form as I do in this human form. But anyway, like this part of us can go into the girl's-" 

"I know how that works!" Harry interrupted before things got even awkwarder. "Only in my case, boys..." 

"It doesn't matter to me," Louis informed him. "I like boys and I like girls." 

"But um... your tail covers it, you said?" Harry pointed out. "So isn't your tail like... attached to your torso?" 

Louis guffawed, "Are your pants attached to your torso? Wait... you called them pants, right?" 

"Yes," Harry laughed. "Pants. No, we take all of our clothes off. Completely naked." 

"Sounds promising," Louis winked.
