"I went on land today," Louis blurted out as they sat on the large bed.
"What? How?" Niall asked, confused.
"Harry was sleeping so I climbed out of the water and up next to him to wake him up. Okay, so actually I thought he was dead at first cause he wasn't responding. Good news. He wasn't dead. But when I got up on shore it was kind of hot so I guess my tail just dried up? I grew legs too."
"You grew legs?" Niall screeched. "What are legs, do they hurt?"
"Sssh!" Louis quickly clamped a hand over the blonde boy's mouth. "You can't just shout things like that, you twat!"
"Sorry," he mumbled against Louis' hand.
Louis removed his hand before nodding, "But yes, I did grow legs. They're like... instead of our tail, it's like two arms but longer and much more easier to balance on. Kind of. It's a human thing."
"What was that like?" Niall whispered in bewilderment. "Legs... holy shit humans are so cool."
"Tingly."
"I mean, like using them."
"Hard. Look!" Louis showed Niall the small bit on his tail where he was missing scales.
"What'd you do?"
"I fell! Legs are hard to use when you've had a tail all your life!" he huffed. "Well I guess they're just difficult because Harry isn't very good at using his either."
"So you went on land?" Niall asked.
"Yeah, my human showed me around."
"Around where?"
"We ate these things that Harry called chips. They're... fried potatoes, I think?"
"Fried?"
"Like we cook our fish? But more unhealthy."
Niall made a weird face, "That doesn't make much sense."
"Some humans aren't that smart."
"Except yours, right?" Niall smirked.
"Of course."
"What else did you do today?"
"We watched a... what did they call it?" Louis thought for a moment. "A film? Yeah, that was it."
"What is that?"
"It's kind of like moving pictures."
"I want to see one!" Niall demanded in a mildly whiny voice.
"Maybe someday," Louis grinned.
"When do I get to meet Harry then?" Niall grabbed onto Louis' arm, inching closer.
"How about tomorrow?" Louis patted Niall's hands away.
"Yes!" Niall exclaimed as he flung his arms up in excitement, causing Louis to laugh at him.
"You can't like freak him out or anything."
"You just ruin all my fun, don't you?"
Louis shook him head with a slight chuckle, "I just don't want you to freak him out because I want to see him again."
"You like the human," Niall said in a teasing manner.
"No!" Louis blushed.
"You so like Harry!"
