The next day was rather interesting as (Y/n) finally got to see them in their suits, training. It amused her greatly whenever Fred set fire to one of his garden's bushes or Baymax busted a chair.
(Y/n) wondered why they liked this job, it scared her mind to think of doing all the crazy stuff they did.
The team had left for an emergency job, that afternoon a siege had taken place and the guy holding everyone hostage wouldn't budge.
(Y/n) had to go home alone, very worried about the hostages and her friends. She didn't know if they made it back home past 8 as she had gone to bed. Where ever Hiro was, she prayed it was anywhere but the hospital. Aunt Cass seemed to have been told a different story. Of course the gang explained that Aunt Cass would flip if she found out but (Y/n) figured that she knew and just never brought it up.
It was late into the night when she awoke. Thirsty at 3 in the morning, surely they were back by then? She sat upright and stared out at the pitch black room, blinking at what she believed was Tadashi's dresser, the thought that he was gone hadn't left her mind.
She was sleeping in her dead friend's bed.
It made her feel sick.
So sick, she began to hallucinate, hearing murmuring sounds from down stairs.
(Y/n) swore she heard the gang's voices. It wasn't some joke, she could hear them. She shook her head and listened quietly, muffled sounds mixing in with her light breathing.
And soon she realised she wasn't experiencing faulty hearing, their voices where coming from downstairs.
(Y/n) jumped out of bed and ran to the stairs, halting abruptly when she noticed Hiro still missing.
"We've got no leads, we are trying to find one of the masterminds, we think there is more than one." Hiro's voice called from downstairs. She blinked and quietly moved towards the doorway.
(Y/n) peered down from the railing to see Hiro and the gang with Baymax, sitting in the lounge with the TV on.
Why were they all were gathered this late? One swift glance at GoGo in her suit answered her question.
They were doing super hero business. (Y/n) turned to go back to bed when she heard their voice.
"Well you better find some lead, (y/n) is with you, we trust you." (Y/n) froze stiff at the familiar voices. She crouched down low, her heart racing in her chest, threatening to explode.
"No... it can't be..." she whispered. She tiptoed down the stairs to see a small conference set up with a camera and the TV. (Y/n) gasped loudly as she saw her parents on the screen, confirming her suspicion. Her eyes widened as her parents gasped back.
The gang turned to face (y/n) who found herself wondering many things.
"Mom?! ... Dad?!" She muttered confused, why was Big Hero 6 contacting her parents?!
"Hey sweetie... How's your trip?" (M/n) asked gently. (Y/n) shook her head before looking at Hiro.
"You knew about Big Hero 6?" She asked quietly.
"Well no duh! They are police officers!" Fred exclaimed. (Y/n)'s eyes widened.
"Police officers?!" She called back, the shock causing her heart to beat at a rapid pace. She was confused, lost.
"Look, I know this is a little hard-"
"You lied to me." (Y/n) cut in, the gang looked at her as she walked closer. "You... You guys had jobs! You lied!! YOU LIED!" She yelled.
"Shh calm down (y/n)." Hiro stood up and placed his hands on her shoulders only to jump back when she shrugged him off.
She whipped her head to face him. "You! YOU LIED TOO! You knew... You knew my parents were police..." Tears began to form in her eyes.
"I thought you knew-"
"I didn't!" She snapped back in a shrill voice. "For... 9 years... I thought we... I THOUGHT WE WERE BANKRUPT! YOU SAID YOU GUYS NEEDED A NEW JOB!" Her anger was now directed back to her parents.
"What?" Hiro asked.
"The reason we moved years ago was because we apparently had no money, and my parents lost their jobs! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH?!" (Y/n) screamed.
She cried harder. "(Y/n), we wanted to tell you... It's just-"
"SHUT UP!" (Y/n) screamed. "SHUT UP! You... You can't be forgiven for this, why hide this from me?! We never went bankrupt!"
"No we didn't." (D/n) began.
"Then tell me." (Y/n) cut in. "Why did we move?! Why did I have to leave my best friend goodbye?!"
"Because you were a target." Honey Lemon said softly. (Y/n) blinked blindly and stared at the chemistry whizz.
"Krei tech was caught having an unauthorised experiment and your name was written down in their document." GoGo explained. "We were tipped off about this a while ago and decided to help your parents... we didn't know they were your parents until a short while ago and we were requested to contact them after the siege was sorted out."
"We had to move, we were worried." (M/n) insisted. "We only got in touch with Big Hero 6 since they are helping the police!"
(Y/n) wiped her face with her hand. Too many emotions clouded up her head. She felt most of all betrayed. Betrayed by everyone in the room.
"You have been a target for nine years, the people we caught had been reluctant to giving information so there are still some of them out there." Hiro said.
"But we know that this has to be sorted soon... we need to know why they are after you." Wasabi said.
"Well the stupid police could have locked them in jail!" (Y/n) retorted.
"There wasn't enough evidence so they were given a fine." Fred exclaimed.
(Y/n) stood up enraged. "I'm going to bed." She spat. "You guys aren't the people I thought you were."
The gang could only watch as (y/n) stormed off, back up the stairs and flopped into her bed.
Streams of tears ran down her face, wetting her pillow. As the night progressed, she could hear the gang mutter words with her parents as sleep washed over her, a painful sleep filled with the terrors of 9 years.
"Hey (y/n)!" Tadashi had called, (y/n) looked up at the boy.
"Yeah Dashi?" she was only three, her vocabulary wasn't as expanded as she had thought.
Tadashi fidgeted around with a small silver object. "Wanna see a magic trick?" He smiled lightly.
The little girl's eyes widened. "A magic twick?" She repeated, only causing Tadashi to sigh heavily.
"I can make this coin disappear." He explained, holding up a small silver coin.
"Oh I wanna show Hiwo!" (Y/n) squealed.
"Uh this is a special trick!" Tadashi said hastily, "only for you... Do you wanna see?" (Y/n) went silent before nodding brightly.
"I never seen a coin like that!" She giggled, causing Tadashi to shrug.
"You know how I went to that Krie Tech Showcase at SFIT?" He asked. (Y/n) nodded her head. "They were handing out these little tokens so I decided to use this for my magic trick."
(Y/n) giggled and clapped her hands. "One day you, Hiwo and me will all go enter showcase and win!" She declared as Tadashi laughed.
"Yep! And then we can go to SFIT!" Tadashi beamed, holding up the token.
"Oh yeah magic twick! Show me Dashi!" (Y/n) giggled as Tadashi set her on his lap.
"Oh, I shall make this coin disappear in three seconds." Tadashi grinned. "One, two, three!" A small "clink!" Sound echoed in (y/n)'s ear as she looked around for the coin.
"Where did it go?!" (Y/n) gasped in surprise. Tadashi pointed to his ear. "In there?!" She gasped in surprise.
"Yep! Now I can't get it out! Oh well!" Tadashi shrugged as Hiro entered their bedroom with Aunt Cass.
"Hello kids! We just got back from Hiro's big kids school." Aunt Cass informed them.
"I'm gonna be starting grade one next year!" The Raven haired child grinned, showing off the tooth gap in between his two front teeth.
"Woah! Grade one?!" Tadashi gasped in surprise.
"You totally skipped kindy!" (Y/n) gushed. Hiro nodded.
"I guess I'm just too smart." He laughed as (y/n) outstretched her hand for a high five.
"Congratuwations Hiwo- I'm pwoud!" (Y/n) exclaimed, beaming at her best friend, the magic coin trick that Tadashi had showed her was long forgotten.
(Y/n) woke with a start, smiling up at the ceiling. The memory of her latest dream fresh in her mind. A nice change from horrid memories that most likely didn't need to happen.
The soft snores of the hamada in the second part of the room quickly reminded her of his horrid presence and the events of the night before.
Oh she was angry. Very angry.
She jumped out of bed and raced down the stairs, expecting to see the small video conference that was held hours ago, only to find it gone.
She was furious, so furious and confused with mixed emotions that she didn't care that she was still in her pyjamas.
She unlocked the door and pushed it open, ignoring the happy chime of the cafe bell.
She pulled out her phone which she decided to take with her and raced to the park. She scrolled through her contacts until she found the name she was after- Maddy.
About three rings later Maddy answered. "Hey (N/n)! How's San Fransokyo treating ya?" Maddy's voice called.
(Y/n) sighed deeply. "Horribly." She responded, catching her friend off guard.
"Really?-" Maddy was cut off by someone speaking on her side, "it's (y/n) mom!" She yelled.
(Y/n) could faintly hear their conversation in the background. "Yeah cool- I'll eat chicken and fried rice!" Maddy called, causing (y/n) to smile slightly. "Great now please leave! I'm having an important convo!"
(Y/n) waited for Maddy to address her. "So much has happened Maddy, I don't know if anything is the same." Maddy went silent as (y/n) began to explain everything, Hiro's brother being a dead secret, Big Hero 6 and even her parents calling them the night before, telling Maddy information that she probably shouldn't have spoken of.
Information you could say, that was the key to everything, because while Maddy denied anyone in the room, someone was listening. Someone was always listening in the dark whenever (Y/n) was involved.
But If (Y/n) didn't speak with Maddy... well, I guess you could say there wouldn't be a story to tell...
But (y/n) did, and oh what a mistake that was.
