"Wait, you're a what?"

"A nymph, dear."

"A nymph? You mean like a fairy? But I thought fairies had wings?"

Daffodil began to rub conditioner into Mae's head and sighed. This girl was going to be the queen? A HUMAN as queen for all vampires? This won't turn out well. She's got a lot to learn if she wishes to thrive as queen, or even live.

After her bath, Daffodil brought Mae to her huge three story walk in closet to get dressed.

"Woah." Mae said slowly as she marveled at the closet's size. "I've never even heard of such a closet existing," she said.

"Well, it most certainly exists." Daffodil said. She was already picking out clothes for Mae to wear and they floated in a train behind her as she continued further into the room.

Mae absently followed the nymph, her fingers dreamily fingering the clothes as she passed.

"There must be a lot of people living here." Mae guessed as they started up a large spiral staircase in the middle of the room.

"What do you mean?" Daffodil asked. Using her magic, she carried a flowing baby blue gown over and held it up in the air next to Mae. Satisfied, she added it to her train of floating objects.

"All these clothes . . . They must be for a lot of people."

"What are you talking about, a lot of people? This is YOUR closet."

"WHAT."

"Who else would it be for?" Daffodil laughed. "Everything in here is only in your size."

"What? But how?" Mae asked as they passed the purses and moved into the shoe department.

"Nymphs . . . Vampires . . . We have our ways of getting things done." Daffodil said confidently.

Mae's eyebrows furrowed in though and she turned and started to move away from Daffodil, leaving the nymph to decide between a pair of creamy wedges and a pair of thin shiny violet heels. She tried to focus her thoughts but failed in her attempt to do so when something caught her eye.

She started to run towards it but then stopped suddenly right in front of the red foot ware that had caught her eye.

"Now these are a pair of shoes," she said a loud to herself.

The were a pair of red heeled sneakers, where the heel was connected to the shoe like it might be for a pair of wedges. The entire shoe was a soft red apart from the bottom which was white. It had red laces and two zippers went down the sides of the shoe next to the laces.

Mae picked up the pair of shoes and made her way back to the first floor near the entrance. Since, after all it was the only part of the room that she could find without getting lost. And for what would be the last time for a very long time she felt like a teenage girl. Because with what was coming, she may never feel that way again.

(About 10 minutes later . . . )

"Mae! Where are you, darling?" Daffodil called. She had taken her eyes off the young human for just a second and before she knows it, the girl is gone. "Mae! Where are you?"

If she had lost the queen . . . Well, try not to think about it.

But soon Daffodil couldn't help but fear the worst. She gave up and decided to head back to the bedroom.
