Niall entered the place and the room went silent. Everyone stopped moving, parted, and stared at Niall as he angrily stormed through. Of course it only lasted a moment because he was going at vampire speed, but with it so quiet in a place that normally had nothing but clamor and noise, it was indeed noticeable.

It would have been especially noticeable to some and less so to others. But as it just so happened, with impeccable timing a young man happened to notice the disturbance as the mansion came into view. The young man, picking up on the disturbance, smiled to himself.

His light cerulean snakes eyes glistened in the dark as he walked towards the mansion. Hands in his pockets, he walked slowly and took his time. He was in no rush.

He knew, with out most certainty, he knew that the Queen would be his. One way or another. He would get what he wanted. He always gets what he wants.

Invisibility is not a power that vampires posses. Well, most of them anyway. But he wasn't just any vampire. He was in fact not a vampire. But only in the sense that he was so many other things as well.

Using his invisibility he snuck down into the prisons and like a snake he slithered through its dry tunnels. Neither the guards nor those imprisoned took notice of his presence. They could not have had any less of a clue that he was there. Even when he stepped into moon flooded corners his shadow could not be seen. And it wasn't his invisibility that where a shadow should have been there was none.

Finally, he found the cell that withheld who he was looking for. He unlocked the cage and in doing so gathered the attention if the prisoner.

She looked up. Her eyes although bright were dying and her hair although still light blonde had lost their sheen and lively glow. She was lost and dying. After all, nymphs weren't meant to be licked away in the dark depths of the dungeons.

"Hello?" She called weakly.

"Daffodil," a cold voice said. A harsh shiver ran up her spine and the faint glow she radiated grew slightly dimmer as the coldness rang into her bones. "You don't seem well."

Daffodil was terrified. It was bad enough she was down there. They had told her that she had attacked the Queen, but she had no recollection of such events and did not understand. She didn't even know that there was a Queen. And attack? She could not even kill a fly if she wanted to. But here she was imprisoned in the darkness. Was she hallucinating? Was it an angel of death that now stood before her? She did not know.

"Who are y-you? Show yourself!" She shakily demanded.

Her visitor uncloaked himself from invisibility and stepped into the moon light sanctioned part of the cell. He wore a fine dark suit with a red shirt beneath that was as dark as blood. The light glistened on his shoes and in his eyes but he bore no shadow.

"Oh, come on Daffy," he cooed darkly. "You remember me don't you?"

And suddenly she did. Suddenly, she remembered everything. Including the Queen.

Horrified, she looked down at her hands. Her fingers still had Mae's blood on them and it was dried into her fingernails.

"What did-What did I do?" She whispered.

She would have fainted but her visitor intervened. His voice shot like an electric bolt through her head, Look at me.

Her head shot up, her body in his command, but she tried to fight it. She trembled as he stepped towards her. In a quick swift motion he grabbed her jaw harshly. She whimpered from the pain and tried to look away.

"Look at me," he commanded both aloud and telepathically, sending another bolt of energy through her mind.

She obliged and he grunted unhappily when he saw in her eyes that she wasn't fully under his control.

"You do not have free will anymore, nymph," he said disgustedly. "You are no longer a 'free spirit'," he added with a mocking tone. "You are mine and it would do you good to remember that. Understood?"

Daffodil whimpered.

"Is that understood, nymph?" He shouted.

"Yes," she said in a less than tiny voice. Once a strong, spirited, carefree creature she was now leashed.

"'Yes', what?" He spat.

"Yes, Master Syrus."

Satisfied, he let go. A large grin emerged on his face and he sat down next to her, "Good," he said as he wrapped his arm around her and folded one leg over the other knee. "Now, " he asked politely, "do we still need to have what happened explained to us?"

Daffodil did not reply.

"Fabulous!" Syrus exclaimed, unfolding his legs. He let go of Daffodil and grabbed her blood stained hands. "Then lets see what exactly this little queen of ours is," he said as he observed the blood on her hand.

He lifted the blood stained fingertips to his nose and inhaled deeply. "Human . . ." He breathed darkly. "Interesting . . ."

He then proceeded to lick Daffodils hand when he took notice of her trembling. He sighed annoyingly, "Daffodil, dear, I would very much appreciate it if you would please stop with that intrusive trembling."

His command forced her to unwillingly stop. But what he didn't realize was that commanding her to stop, commanded her to stop.

He lifted her hand to his mouth and began by licking the blood directly off of her hand. Daffodil had no other choice but to sit there and watch until he was done, mostly because she was dead.

"Mmmm. Quite a delicious little character this queen of ours. Or is that just the blood?" He laughed to himself. Then he turned to Daffodil who sat watching silently with glazed eyes. "You don't look very good Daffy."

Syrus stood up and paced back in forth thinking, observing. He observed her as she slowly died in front of him. After a while he stopped and stepped close to her. Bending over slightly, he began to trace his finger down the side of her face.

"Such a shame. You're dying. You did serve me well." He sighed. "You know, Daffy," he whispered close to her face as she closed her eyes. "I think I like you."

Syrus bit her and put her into a semi-preserved state so that she would not die until the transformation could be completed. Then he grabbed her body and cloaking them both with invisibility he left the prisons and disappeared into the night.
