I look at myself in the mirror touching up on some of my cologne. After a few weeks I'll be moving into Katniss's apartment just till we both get more comfortable with each other. Is it normal to be nervous? I mean I've been on dates before... But this one feels different. I actually feel something with Katniss... I know. I sound like a girl but it's true... It feels right with her, every time she smiles she lights up day and her laugh... Her laugh is like an angel and her beautiful grey eyes... I love everything about her.
"Here boy" Haymich states handing me keys and I look at him with wide eyes
"You're giving me the truck?!" I smile and he smirks
"It's always good to make an impression" he smiles and I sigh
"Is it normal to feel like your heart is going to beat out of you?" I ask and he chuckles giving me the basket and blanket
"Man up boy. It's alright to be nervous" he explains and I nod sighing and walking out to the truck

"Don't be a coward Peeta. She's just the most beautiful girl in the world" I say to myself arriving at her apartment door and I take a deep breath and I knock. After a few seconds the door opens, revealing Katniss... Wow, she looks beautiful
"Am I over dressed?" She asks and I smile at her shaking my head
"No. You're just... Very beautiful" I admit making her smile
"So... Are you ready to go?" I ask and she nods shutting her door and locking it and I take her hand linking it with mine and I look at her and she smiles. When we get to the truck I open the passenger side and she thanks me and I then get in the drivers seat, start the car and drive off
"So. Where are we going?" Katniss asks and I smile
"You'll see" I'm taking her to the meadow which is where I'd ride my bike to when I slept over Haymichs sometimes, when I was a teenager. It's really peaceful there and it's the one place where I'd go if I was ever upset.
I park on the grass and I get out along with Katniss and she looks around amazed by the meadows beauty. I lay the blanket out on the back of the truck and jump up with the basket
"Are you coming up?" I ask and she smiles and comes up sitting next to me and I pull out a ham and salad sandwich for both me and Katniss. She takes it and bites into it
"So. Peeta. Tell me more about yourself" she starts and I chuckle
"Well... I've been told that I'm a pretty great painter. I grew up working in a bakery. My favourite colour is orange but it's more smooth you know?" I admit and she looks into the distance than to me
"Like a sunset" she says and I smile
"Yeah. Like a sunset"
"Anyways. I never take sugar in my tea which most people find odd but I'm more of a coffee person. I sleep with the window open, no matter what the weather" I explain
"That's enough about me. Tell me things about you" I reply
"There's not much to know really..." She admits
"Just tell me anything. Anything you want" I say
"Okay. So my favourite colour is forest green. My cooking skills are horrible. I'm stubborn. When I was little my dad taught me self defence with a bow. I'm not a huge fan of tea but I like my tea with two lumps of sugar. I've got a younger sister Primrose" she admits and I smile
"See. There's a lot more you can say but you just don't wanna tell me" I state making her smile and shrug
"I guess I'm just waiting for other dates to tell you more" she replies making me chuckle.
Katniss lays her head on my chest as we look up at the twinkling stars, this date has gone soooo well I mean I can't believe that my lady in red is right here in my arms on a date with me. I'm so happy we met again and I'm even more happy now that we're on our first date
"Peeta?"
"Mm"
"Did you ever have a girlfriend... Before me?" She asks making me sigh thinking of Delly
"Yeah. I did. Her name was Delly Cartwright. She was having sex with my best friend and she had me convinced that the child she was carrying was mine but it wasn't. It belonged to my best friend she was seeing... Gale Hawthorne" I admit
"Did you and Delly... You know" she says still laying on my chest and I gulp
"Yes..." I reply and Katniss sits up and I do to and she looks at me sadly
"Do you still love her?" She asks and frown
"Of course not. I'm with you now" I reply and she sighs
"Are you sure? Cause I don't want you to feel press---" but I cut her of by kissing her and she lays down so that I'm on top, still kissing, we brake apart and I stroke her cheek
"I'm sure. I don't feel pressured into this relationship and I definitely do not love Delly. She's no longer apart of my life. You're all that matters to me now. You and only you" I admit and she bites her lip and I can't help it but kiss her again and she does the same too. Good this girl is amazing.
We walk up to her apartment door. Tonight was the best date night in my life, we kissed, we cuddled, we talked and we laughed she is all I care about now and is definitely the woman I can consider marrying
"Thanks for the amazing night Peeta..." She thanks after unlocking her door and I smile
"Thanks for actually wanting to start a relationship with me" I thanks and she smiles opening her door
"So. I'll text you and we can do this again sometime?" I ask and she bites her lip
"I'd like that" she admits and I lean in and our lips touch and she kisses back and I brake away
"Bye" she says walking inside
"Bye" I reply and she shuts her door and I walk away with a massive smile on my face.
