I walked from my new room, smoothing down my black and burgundy lace dress. I'd curled my hair and slipped my heels on, grabbing my matching clutch Nick also gave me. I smiled as I saw Bobby approach me, a smile on her face also.
"Enjoying your surprise?" She smirked.
"Yeah, I know exactly what it is that is going on!" I laughed and Bobby joined in.
"Oh, do you?" She just smiled and linked arms with me. "Then, where are we going today?" She laughed at my blank expression. "So you don't know everything do you!" I growled at her smirk, then I couldn't help but join in. "Let's go Page, follow me!" I let her drag me down the endless corridors to the doorway of a grand hall. She made me stop and pulled me to the side of the door. "Now we just need to wait for Nick and Hunter to arrive!" She smiled and we stood for just a moment before Nick and Hunter turned the corner, smiled beaming. We ran to them and hugged our significant other. We then swung into place and walked to the door. I heard an announcer through the door. Muffled yet understandable.
"Ladies and Gentlemen. I am proud to welcome to the hall, our Leader and his Second-in-Command, Nick and Bobby, with their partners, Page and Bobby!"
The door swung open to reveal us, beaming like crazy. We entered the hall together and stood on the balcony, waving at our friends below. Cheers and hollers filled the air, welcoming us. A mic was handed to Nick, and he began his speech.
"Hello, and welcome to our first ever Prom!" The crowd went wild. "This is a very special day for us all. I would like to share with you how this event came into the event list for you all today." Nick paused to look down and I knew why. I soothed him by placing my hand lightly on his back. He looked to me and smiled. He sighed and began to talk again. "When I had planned a romantic day out for Page on Valentine's Day, it turned upside down. During that time, I promised Page that when we got out, we would do whatever she wanted. She mentioned that we would be going through Prom if we were in traditional education. I instantly loved the idea. I planned to surprise her today with this, as she really wished she had a prom, which is why nothing about this went on the notice board, and you were asked to keep on the down-low about this. I woke her up this morning, telling her this spectacular outfit was waiting in her wardrobe. I am so glad to tell you this story, and hope you all enjoy this evening as much as I hope Page will. Thank you." Nick finished and handed Hunter the mic. Rounds of applause were heard for the story, along with some tears shed. Hunter then began his shorter speech.
"I want to thank you for attending tonight's event. Whilst Nick had a much deeper reason for tonight's event, I believed Bobby would love to help our close friends, but would enjoy this evening also. That is why I believed tonight's event would be precious for me and Bobby, and why this event was organised. I want to wish you the best evening tonight, and to have fun! Thank you." Hunter handed the announcer the mic once again during more applause and some tears. We waved one more time before descending down the stairs either side of the balcony, me and Nick on the left, Bobby and Hunter on the right. We met again in the middle, and began the dancing of the night to the song 'Bang Bang'. We jumped around and had a laugh for what felt like days, but was really measly hours. When the last song, '7 Years' had finished, the announcer appeared on the stage once again, regaining our attention. We all stopped talking and payed attention to the announcer.
"Okay Ladies and Gentlemen, now, for the moment you have all been waiting for!" The announcer paused and waited for our cheering to die down once again. "To crown our King and Queen of the Prom! Please may I have the golden envelope of truth please?" An assistant leaped onto the stage and handed the announcer the envelope. "Thank you." He replied, ushering the assistant off stage. "Now, let us see tonight's results! Tonight's King and Queen are..." He whipped the card from the envelope and scanned the words upon it. "The King and Queen are... HUNTER AND BOBBY!" The crowd exploded in joy for the couple as they raced upon the stage, claiming their crowns and sashes. The announcer suddenly got handed a silver envelope. He thanked the assistant once again and stepped to the edge of the stage. "Okay! Quiet once again please!" He shouted and everyone once again listened. He leant over to Bobby and Hunter and just audibly whispered to them. "Sorry to cut your celebrations short guys. Prince and Princess now!" He regained his posture to face the audience. "We also have our Prince and Princess to announce!" The crowd oohed and ahhed at this announcement. "Our Prince and Princess of the Prom are..." Again, the announcer whipped the card from the envelope and scanned the words upon it. "The Prince and Princess are... NICK AND PAGE!" The crowd pushed us forwards towards the stage, cheering and congratulating us. Nick wrapped one of his arms around my waist and we walked onto the stage. Bobby and Hunter smiled at us as we passed them. Crowns were placed upon our heads and sashes were placed on us. We beamed at the crowd, waving at them before joining Hunter and Bobby to hugs. "Congratulations to our Royal Family of the Prom. We ask for the King and Queen to begin our second portion of dancing, later joined by our Prince and Princess!" The announcer left the stage, as did we. Hunter and Bobby, our king and queen, began dancing to a slow song I cannot remember the name of. About half way through the song, someone nudged me and Nick onto the dance floor to join the dancing. I leant into Nick as we began to dance, and I felt as if we were the only two people there. Moments later, everyone else began dancing beside us, but I didn't notice them at all. Nick was the only person I could see, and I was happy.
Happier than ever before.
