I woke up once again, looking around my hospital room. I sit myself up, feeling sharp pains in my left leg. I groan, my hand grasping my leg, the excruciating pain coursing throughout my body. I look for someone nearby, spotting a body asleep in the chair tucked into the corner of the room. I try to make out a face, the darkness preventing it. I decide to occupy my time, grabbing out the journal once again and reading the last hour or so I wrote about. I recall what happened before the operation, not remembering after I got wheeled to the theatre. I write as much as I can remember. I struggle to finish seconds before the operation, so I skip that, putting away the book and pen, thinking what to do. I wrote for about twenty minutes, so I thought I could draw for a bit. I grab out my sketchbook as I hear a mumble. I look over to the chair in the corner, the body stirring in sleep. I stop myself from calling out, watching the body, sit up.
"Page!" Hunter calls from the seat. "You're awake! Thank gosh!" He grabs a walking stick, getting up and rushing to my side, "How are you feeling?" He asks me, sitting on the edge of my bed and propping his walking stick against the bed. I shrug.
"When I woke up, my leg was throbbing in pain, but now, about twenty minutes later, its fine." I pause. "How are you? You feeling better?"
"Yeah, definitely. You were a couple hours, so I got to my best, so I can walk about with a walking stick. I can't leave until we both leave for holiday though." I smile, glad Hunter is good. "Now, do you want the guys to come in now?" I sigh, nodding.
"Yeah. Get it out of the way. How you getting them in?" I look up to Hunter, a smile creeping onto his face.
"Oh, we were going to say we both began puking violently, make them panicked. Say they roomed us together as we were mates, and we just... yeah!" I laugh.
"Do it!" I tell him, an evil laugh erupting between us.
"I'll go get it sorted." Hunter says, hobbling out the room. I put away my sketchbook I put on the side of my bed, packing everything neatly. I lean back, watching doctors helping by moving Hunter's bed next to mine, smiling and chatting about our evil plan. Hunter comes and sits on his bed, Desmond following him in.
"Okay, they know and are gonna be here any moment. They were closer than we thought. You ready?" I look to Hunter, smiling between each other. Hunter grabs my hand.
"You ready to do this?" He asks. I nod, gulping back the fears. "Okay, let's do this!" He tells Desmond, letting him go pick up the visitors. I lean over, hugging Hunter.
"Be there for me?" I ask weakly.
"Of course!" He whispers in my ear.
"Of course."
