I grab my crutch for security, Hunter supporting me slightly as I moved. Tone walked behind us, packing in the ammo into the gun for herself, handing us our guns. We stand together in the doorway, aligning ourselves to our formation. Tone whimpers slightly, before prepping a shot to commence the plan. I let go of Hunter, my foot gaining its senses. I nod to Hunter as he turns the lights off once again, opening a crack in the door. We crouch, Tone reaching her gun through the crack, letting off an alert shot. I lay on my stomach as we hear running steps moving towards us. Hunter lessens the gap in the door, watching the torch light come to view. I lean my shot gun, with its slim end, through the smaller gap, following his feet along the corridor. He stops just in range for my gun, as I position myself to shoot. The legs move closer, as I shoot the left ankle. The leg retracts from infront of me, the other leg jumping in and out of my sight also. I reposition my gun upwards to the back, watching the figure move forwards. I aim, the sniggers of Hunter just audible. I hold my breath, shooting once again. The figure pauses in the air, before falling to the floor, releasing his gun to the side of him. I stare, realising my positioning was wrong.
I turn pale, looking at the now silent Hunter. He grabs the cuffs beside himself as he pushes himself up off the floor. He opens the door, the figure still down on the floor, not breathing. I push up, resting on my knees, watching Hunter cautiously creep into reach of the corpse. He leans over, opening the cuffs to fit around the wrists of the strange man. He pauses, not wanting to get jumped at the wrong time. After a few moments, he continues to lean over grabbing the right wrist. Tone had told us he looked to be right handed, so we listened and took the chance to weaken his possible escape. As Hunter secures the cuff on the right wrist, the figure screams, leaping from the floor. He swings round, punching Hunter in the jaw with his free hand. Hunter stumbles backwards, losing grip on the man. He drop kicks Hunter to the floor, gaining an advantage. I untuck my legs, kicking my way out of the door. The figure pauses, changing his focus on me. I watch for his first move. He flinches his right hand, letting me block his punch. I grab his wrist, twisting his arm outwards. He shouts in pain, hearing the bone click out of place. I kick the back of his shin, causing him to fall once again to the floor. I take the chance, grabbing the empty cuff and locking it in place. I force my foot against his back, hearing the pleasant howl of pain escape his lips as he shies away from my foot. I lean down, connecting his face with the floor.
"Okay! You got me! Just please, don't kill me!" He yells to me. I nod, looking to Hunter and Tone.
"You okay Hunter?" I ask, getting a nod in reply. I look to Tone. "Go back to the bed, let us handle this." I tell her. She looks to me with upset.
"Yes Miss Page." She quickly replies, rushing back into the room.
"Go get a higher security person please?" I ask Hunter, watching him race down the corridor. I push my foot against the back of the strange man's head, causing him to groan in pain. "What is it you want?" I ask him, venom spitting out in my voice.
"I want Tone Hutson." He simply replies, causing me to push down once again. I lean closer to his face, making sure he understood my next question.
"Why did you have to kill her mother?" I shout at him, causing him to flinch slightly.
"Because she would have gotten in the way." He grunts back.
"You sick monster!" I spat at him, standing up again. "You don't deserve to live!" I tell him.
"I need her though!" He yells in reply. I look down at him, confused.
"Why would you need Tone?" I ask, filling the time wisely.
"Because of her prophecy. I got told to retrieve her, or I die." He grunts reluctantly. I pause, thinking of my next move.
"Who are you?" I decide to ask. He looks to me cautiously.
"Kermit Amador" He replies with a sigh, causing me to snigger.
"Kermit Amador?" I laugh. "Did your parents hate you or something?" I ask, tears slowly forming.
"I guess they did." He replies bluntly. "Beside the point!" He shouts at me. I stop my giggles, staring at the loud man below me. "I need Tone, or I shall die tonight!" He yells once again up at me.
"You shall die, no matter the outcome of your 'mission', Kermit." I reply bluntly, hearing several sets of footsteps approach. I look up to welcome them.
"You evil coward." He mutters. I snap my head to face him, applying more pressure on his head as I bend down to his level.
"Why do you say that, Kermit?" I snarl in his face. He smiles.
"Because, you won't stand and face me." He replies, smiling. I hear footsteps halt infront of us, which I ignore.
"Why, I shall not face you. Tone shall decide your fate, weather you die in answer to your actions tonight, or anything else she so desires. I wish you luck, Kermit. You killed her mother. She shall not be kind to you." I stand once again, smiling at the halted men infront of me. "Kermit Amador. He killed a woman in cold blood to retrieve a young child we care for. I wish to imprison him and let the child decide his fate. I would call death for high treason, but I want Tone to decide for me." I tell the nodding men. "Take him away." I finish, handing the men the arm and the head. They cuff him, walking him to the prisons. I look to Hunter, who remains alone. I walk through the open door to my room, leaving my crutch where I left it, seeing as I haven't used it for a while and have been fine. I sit on the edge of my bed, looking to Tone.
"I-I heard it all, Miss Page." She stutters. "You want me to decide Kermit's fate?" She asks. I nod, smiling.
"He did harm to you Tone. You deserve to dictate what happens." I tell her. She possesses a glint in her eye as she smiles.
"Yes Miss Page." She replies simply. "Can he... get beaten up?" She asks. I nod. "Can I hit him too?" She asks.
"We can see." I tell her. "Maybe not, for your safety. But we can see." She smiles.
"Thanks Miss Page!" She hugs me, before rushing out of the room momentarily. "Um... What about my..." I gasp.
"Stay here, we'll sort it out." I tell her, jumping off my bed and dragging Hunter to her room. We rush to the room, looking upon the pale, lifeless body of Mrs. Hutson. I bow my head in honour of her sacrifice, Hunter following sharply. We notify a passing officer, asking for arrangements to be made. We lay the body in good order, ready for removal. As officers arrive to remove the body, we stand aside, heads lowered as she leaves the room. Once the room is empty, we move once again, back to a Weeping Tone...
