A Wake-Up Call

I slowly rub my eyes in circles, regaining conciseness from my sleep, hearing gasps and cheers from a room full of doctors, nurses, friends and a... camera?

"W-what's going on?" I ask sleepily, looking around the room. Nick comes and sits on the edge of my hospital bed, Bobby and Hunter behind him.

"Babe, you went through a massive operation whist you were asleep, you had some devices inside you from your last location, they were controlling aspects of your life so you wouldn't have fun and want to go back to them, but we figured it out and removed it in your sleep, so you are better! No more fainting!" Nick explained to me. I nodded throughout this, taking it all in.

"That's great! But... what's with the camera?" I ask. Nick looks to it, realising it was still there.

"Oh, everyone was worried about you, but not everyone was able to come in, so we set up a camera from after your op, showing your progress live. Can't you hear the screams outside?" I listen carefully, hearing the cheering Nick was talking about.

"Yeah, now I can." I eventually reply.

"Good, now we need to let the Doc check you out, so we're all going to leave the room, and the CAMERA, is going off, so, anything you want to say to the camera?" Nick looks at me, waiting for my answer. I turn to the camera.

"I want to say thank you for worrying about me I guess. You didn't need to, but I appreciate your support." I keep it short and sweet, nodding at Nick afterwards to get everyone to leave for the check-up. Nick picks up the camera, ushering everyone out of the room. Bobby and Hunter come up to quickly talk.

"Glad you are okay!" Hunter tells me, I smile.

"Thanks Hunter, I am too!" I laugh, giving him a hug.

"So glad you are okay! We can have a girls' day soon, catch up!" Bobby exclaims to me. We laugh, hugging quickly before they leave. The Doctor comes up and begins the examination. Everything looks okay, before we get to my legs. The Doctor tells me to swing my legs over the side of the bed, whilst I attempt to, I reply that I can't. He helps me to swing them over, lightly tapping both legs. My right leg responds fine, but my left leg feels nothing, not moving in response to the tap. The Doctor begins to look worried, writing on the clipboard on my bedside table.

"What's wrong with my leg, Doc?" I hurriedly ask. He looks up from his clipboard, panic showing.

"We are not sure just yet, but we will find out as soon as possible. I promise Page." He replies, failing to sound assuring.

"O-okay, thank you Doc." I reply, beginning to panic. "Please promise me you won't tell anyone, especially my friends!" I exclaim, grabbing the Doctors arm. He turns to me and nods his head, answering yes. The doctor helps me to move back onto my bed, and lets Nick, Bobby and Hunter enter again, hurriedly leaving the room himself.

"Hey, you good?" Nick asks. I decide not to worry him just yet.

"Yeah, just need to sort some things out." I reply, smiling to reassure.

"Okay, good." Bobby replies, hugging Hunter slightly, smiling at me.

"I'm guessing bedrest?" Hunter asks me, I smile and nod. "Okay." He mutters to himself. I sense he knows that something is wrong, I just don't want him to tell.

"Okay, we will leave you in piece!" Nick replies.

"I'm just gonna hang with Page for a little, get to know her, I'll catch up with you later." Hunter tells them, sitting on the corner of my bed.

"Okay, be respectful though babe!" Bobby tells him, kissing his cheek and walking out with Nick. We watch the door close.

"Okay, I know something is up, but obviously, Bobby and Nick don't." Hunter bluntly states after the door shut.

"Yes, I figured you did." I tell him.

"Can you tell me?" He asks.

"I guess, just... I don't want to worry anyone, so don't you DARE tell anyone, especially Bobby and Nick!" I reply quickly. Hunter nods.

"Of course Page, I promise. You keep stuff from us for the best reasons, so I respect that. I won't tell them." I take a deep breath.

"Okay, so we were all good doing the check-up, until we got to my legs..." I begin. Hunter looks down to my legs next to where he was sat. He says nothing, so I continue. "I couldn't swing my legs over, so the Doc helped me with that, and began tests there. My right leg responded perfectly, but... My left leg didn't respond at all. I made the Doc swear not to tell anyone, especially you and the others. I guess you got the drift something was up in what I said. Only you picked up on it, it seems." Hunter looks up to me, then down at my legs.

"Page, I'm so sor-"

"Cut the sympathy Hunter, you should know that by now." I cut off his 'sorry'. He looks up at me, sympathy all over his face.

"Page, you don't deserve this. The Doctors obviously botched something during your op!" Hunter told me instead.

"Yeah, I know!" I reply, trying to lighten the mood. Hunter smiles at my sarcasm. "Hunter, it's a mistake that could have happened, I full well know that! I just need to get it sorted, and I will be able to forget this completely, and go on a break with you guys!" I finish off. Hunter smiles.

"You wanna know where we're going?" He asks me. "Bobby doesn't know yet!" He torments me.

"Yeah, can u tell me?" I ask him. He nods. "Then tell me!" I yell, making him smile even more.

"Fine fine fine!" He pauses, annoying me even more. "We are heading to..."

"HUNTER! JUST GET ON WITH IT!" I screech at him, making him wince, still smiling.

"Fine! We are moving to Hawaii for 2 years!" Hunter exclaimed. I screamed, trying to jump up and hug him, failing miserably. Hunter scooted over and let me hug him. I hung on for what felt like forever, so excited to be heading to HAWAII! I unhook my arms from around his neck, jumping up and down on my bed. Hunter laughed at my silliness, happy to see me happy. "You happy?" He asked, making it sound normal, when it was the most stupid question to ask.

"OF COURSE!" I screech at him. "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii!" I laugh, pulling him into another hug.

"Glad to see you happy." He smiled.

"Okay, you better get back, it's been a while." I say, pushing him off my bed. He drops bum-first onto the floor before getting up, rubbing his butt. I laugh at him.

"You gonna be okay?" He asks. I nod in reply. "Okay, just call us if you need anything, okay?" I nod once again. "Glad I could get to know you a bit better Page, it was fun! Now I better go tell Bobby about Hawaii." I laugh, knowing he was gonna have a load of fun... not!

"Have fun with that!" I laugh. "Thanks Hunter, that really cheered me up." He smiles.

"Any time Page!" And with that he walks out the door. I decide to sleep for a bit, so I lay back onto my surprisingly comfy hospital bed and drift off once again into a deep sleep.

Okay guys, hope you enjoyed that chapter! It took me a while to get it right, even if it wasn't really too action-packed, it was a vital chapter I really wanted to get right!

So, Page has had an operation, and is good as before, apart from that dead left leg... Was she right to try to keep it from Nick, Bobby and Hunter? Was it good Hunter noticed? What do you guys think? Let me know!

Anyway, My Amazing Little Wonders!

Until the next chapter!
