My hand subconsciously ran over the scar on my neck. I used to try to hide it, I thought it was just one of my flaws until I realized they're not flaws, they're what make me stand out. Make me special. People would whisper about it, saying I was abused, that my father put a knife to my throat, or that I was mugged and they wanted to leave their mark. All these stories made getting that scar the end, when really it was just the beginning.
