I pulled up to my house and let Gage out. He ran around sniffing things. I got out on the crutches and went to get Arrow out. I unclipped the lead from his halter and he walked by me the entire way to the paddock.

I closed the gate and went inside. Gage followed me in and I got an ice pack for my ankle. I couldn't clean my trailer out or do anything with these crutches.

'Hey honey can I come by to visit?'
'You know you can.' I texted Shane.
'Ok where exactly is your house? I'm in Vidor.'
I texted him the directions to my house and a few minutes later he came in my house. I smiled and he came over to me.

"How's my girl?" He asked. "Good." I told him. "Need any help?" "Could you clean my trailer for me?" I asked him. "If you'll keep me company." He told me. I smiled and he helped me up.

He gave me a piggyback over to his truck. Once there he put the tailgate down and got in to back up to my trailer. I told him when to stop and he opened the back.

"So what if you traveled with me?" He asked. "Why?" I asked. "You'd have more help with your horse and I could walk your dog for you." He told me. "But wouldn't anyone get suspicious?" I asked. "Not really."

I watched as he took a hose to the floor of my trailer to finish cleaning it. "Shane!" I shouted after he sprayed me with the hose. "Yes sweet pea?" He's lucky I can't chase him.

He finished and came over to me. "Is it cleaner?" He asked. I nodded. His lips carefully captured mine and leaned me closer to him. His hand was on my cheek. It felt rough but smooth at the same time.

He picked me up after breaking the kiss and carried me inside the house. He kicked his boots off and carried me into the kitchen. Once there he sat me on the counter and started looking around my kitchen.

"Whatcha looking for?" I asked. "You'll see." He pulled out a few things then began to cook. Once he was done he let me taste it. It was delicious. "Where did you learn how to cook like that?" I asked him.

"My parents." He told me. I bit my bottom lip and smiled. He came over to me and kissed me again. Me sitting on the counter made up for my shortness.

He looked above him. "Is that?" He took a step back . "Is that all the buckles you won?" He asked. I nodded. "We can look at them after supper." I told him. He smiled and picked me up again and carried me into the living room.

Luckily I'm short and light enough he can do that as many times as he wants. He came back with two plates and a ice pack.

We ate and watched the tv. When I was done he took my plate along with his to the kitchen and washed them.

June 20th

Shane pulled up with his truck and trailer. I went out to greet him. Gage ran out to the truck to greet him as he got out. He met me halfway and picked me up.

"How's my honey?" He asked. "Sweet and ready to travel. How's my bear?" I said. "Ready for my honey to join me on the road." He told me. He put me down and handed me my crutches.

"I only brought Reata this time." He told me as we walked up the steps. He opened the door for me and I led the way to my bag. "I'm starting to think that my ankle is healing crooked." I told him as I sat down on my bed.

He picked up my bags and I followed him back out. "That I can see hon." He said as he put my bags in the living quarters. He kissed me then said. "If you'll go get your horse I'll get your tack." He kissed me again and I went to get Arrow.

I grabbed his lead and opened the gate. He walked out and I closed it. The lead swung as I walked at Arrow's flank. He walked over to the trailer and waited. I clipped it on and opened the trailer. Reata nickered as I led my horse in. I petted her then got my horse situated.

Once Arrow was good I went out of the trailer and let Shane put my saddles below his. He closed and locked the doors. He helped me in the truck and locked my front door for me. I gave him my spare house key and left my truck keys in the house.

Eight and a half hours in a truck was nothing. Most of the way I played on my phone. Lights come on by Jason Aldean came on the radio.

I started singing along with the radio and Shane turned it up. Of course I continued to sing along with the radio. Then backroad song came on and we both sang along.
'Barbed wire fence carving out a hillside, cutting holes in the midday sun

(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Freedom is the miles I'm rollin' on
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Out here cruising to a backroad song
I feel the wheels like a melody, like a radio dialing in strong
C'mon, c'mon sing along, sing along to my backroad song
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)

I hit the brakes for an old New Holland, hammer down and pass him on up
The breeze smells like a summertime hay field's just been cut
I got the windows down, way out of town singing...

(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Freedom is the miles I'm rollin' on
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Out here cruising to a backroad song
I feel the wheels like a melody, like a radio dialing in strong
C'mon, c'mon sing along, sing along to my backroad song
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)

This is my backroad song
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Feel the rhythm of it, feel the rhythm of it)
This is my backroad song
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Feel the rhythm of it, feel the rhythm of it)
Come on, come on, sing along
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Feel the rhythm of it, feel the rhythm of it)
To my backroad song
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)
(Feel the rhythm of it, feel the rhythm of it)'
I giggled as the song came to an end.

"You're the one I want, you're the one I need
Baby, if I was a king, ah, you would be my queen
You're the rock in my roll
You're good for my soul, it's true
I'm head over boots for you!"
Shane sang as we pulled up to a gas station.
