Grace's POV
I tripped on my rope and gripped my ankle. It was laying in the floor in between the bathroom and my bed. I was going back to bed when I tripped on it.

Man it hurt and it was my bad ankle too. "Aaooowww." I winced and tried to stand. "Nope not going to work."

Shane's POV
"I should ask her before we go back to Salt Lake City." I said to myself. I heard a thud come from inside a trailer then a long ow sound.

Grace's POV
There was a knock at my door. "Come in." I told the person. Shane opened the door. He saw me holding my ankle and came over. "Here let me help you up." He said picking me up and setting me on the bed.

"Thanks." I told him. "No problem. How did you fall and hurt it?" He asked. "I tripped over my extra rope that Gage dragged out early." "That might have been part of the problem." He gently took my hands off of it and felt it.

"Did you ever break it?" I nodded before wincing. "Last year in June." I told him. "How long were you in a cast?" "Two weeks, then a walking boot for four. The doctor told me to start applying pressure to it after a week in the walking boot."

"Probably going to need to have it X-rayed." He told me. I nodded. "Here I'll help you. We can take my truck." He helped me up and I grabbed one of my go runs.

I had him get my wallet from my truck and he helped me to his. Mid way he picked me up carried me to it. I put my arms around his neck as we got closer to the truck.

He successfully opened the door still holding me. He set me in the seat and closed the door. I couldn't move my ankle at all.

Once we got to the hospital he parked quickly and carried me up to the door. A nurse met him halfway and he set me in the wheelchair and handed me m wallet.

"Ok dear what happened exactly?" A male nurse asked. He was an older gentleman and looked like he's been doing this for years.

"Last year my horse slid during a barrel race and fell accidentally breaking my ankle. Then earlier tonight I tripped on an extra rope I had laying on the ground and it made my ankle flare up." I told him. "Ok we'll get you an X-Ray and go from there."

They took my blood pressure and checked my pulse while I was talking. Once it came to the X-Ray a nurse helped me onto the table and laid a lead cover on my leg.

She took pictures of it carefully on both sides. Then wheeled me to a room. Shane was sitting in a chair looking at his phone. He looked up when the nurse left.

"How do you feel?" He asked. "Pain....... Sorry for dragging you here this late." I told him. "No problem. I don't mind doing this." I shyly smiled then a doctor came in.

"Well its fractured but if you stay off of it, keep it wrapped tight and put ice on it daily it should be fine. Your here with ERA aren't you?" She asked. "Yeah."

"You can wear your boots to help with keeping it still and wear an ankle brace. I nodded. "Once you get home after all this is over I'd get another X-Ray and see if they want to do surgery or not." She handed me some crutches after wrapping my ankle tight and putting ice with it.

I put my shoe on and stood up. Shane helped me out to the truck and helped me in. Once back he helped me out and to my trailer. I fell onto my bed and sat the crutches down.

"So I'll see you in the morning?" He asked. "Yeah. I'll see you in the morning." I said before he left.

I got up and got dressed by mostly sitting down. Once I was dressed I got the crutches and went outside. I fed my pets and locked Gage up in the trailer.

I got in my truck and went to get an ankle brace. I pulled up to the nearest Walgreens and got out. I had to leave my other boot at the trailer and walk with just the wrap from last night.

I found a good brace and bought it then some ice packs and medical tape. I paid for it and bought a pack of mint gum.

When I got back I put my tailgate down and fixed my ankle up. The crunching of gravel made me look over my shoulder.

"Hey." I said as Shane approached. "Hey. How's your ankle?" Then I remembered I couldn't rope. "Do you think I can put pressure on it for a few seconds?" I asked. "Why?" He asked.

I lowered my head. "Right you won't be able to rope." He said. "If I stick an ice pack on it afterwards right away and stay off of it most of the time I think it would work." I said aloud.

"Not my injury. But be careful walking and running on it. If I was you when I'd go to flipping the calf down tonight, put all your weight on the left foot and keep it off your right so it won't hurt as bad." He told me. I nodded and sat there on the tailgate.

"Would you like to go to lunch with me?" He asked.

Ooh he asked her to lunch
