Tie Me Round

Chapter:23

Kildeer, North Dakota

Haven't even been married a month and I'm loving it. Every night when we rope we wear our spurs. I still go by Zandew on the circuit, but off circuit I'm Mrs. Hanchey.

I saddled Arrow and went to warm him up. Once I was done I went over to wait for my turn. "Good luck baby girl." "Thank you hubby." We kissed and he led Arrow down the alley.

I ran good and went over to the trailer. Shane saddled Si and I changed my saddles. I fixed my dally and went with Shane to warm up.

My lime green rope and hog tie matched me perfectly. Once we had our horses good to go he kissed me once before it was his turn.

I watched as he stuck it and flipped the calf. He tied it and went back to his horse pumped.

We watched the fireworks from the top of the trailer, he held me on his lap as they went off. At one point it started getting heated between us and he took me into the trailer.

I woke up in bed being held by my awesome and naked husband. Honestly I didn't care that he was, as long as he made me happy and loved me I don't care what he's wearing.

I put his tee shirt on and got clothes for a shower. I started the water and took his shirt off. I stepped in once it was warm enough and started with my hair.

Two arms wrapped around me as I rinsed off after scrubbing my body. He kissed my cheek and held me against his body. Man do I love my roper.

He let me step out and he got a shower. I dried off and put my underwear on. Then my bra and socks. I pulled my jeans on as he finished and then my shirt.

He stepped out and dried off. I looked in the mirror at my handsome husband as he came over to me. "Why did you have to get dressed?" He asked. "Because we need to get on the road if we're going to make Estes Park in Colorado." I told him.

I left the bathroom and pulled my boots on. I went to get the horses. Once I reached the stalls I clipped the leads on and led them to the trailer.

Gage stayed in the trailer with Shane as I led the horses to the trailer. Once I got to the trailer I tied the four up and opened the trailer up. I filled every bucket up and stuck them in.

Next I put the wraps on their legs and tails and loaded them one by on after giving them hay. I closed them in and made sure all of our tack was put up.

Shane came out and walked Gage. I locked the trailer up and got in the truck. Shane let Gage get in then he got in and we hit the road to Colorado.

I fell asleep because of how late we stayed up late night.

I backed Cory into the box and waited. When I was ready I called for it and stuck it. I jumped off, flipped and tied. I walked back to my horse and got on. "3.5 new arena record."

I exited and pulled my Stetson down. That's gotta be a win for me. Calgary is my favorite place. I kissed Shane good luck before he went out. They called my last name as my married name, but I didn't care.

After roping we went to the trailer and tied the two up. We went back and waited for the name called. "Tie down winner is Grace Hanchey." Again they called me by my married name.

I went out and got a picture with the check. Then went back to my husband. I got someone to take a picture of me and Shane with it and we went to the trailer with our last two horses.

"Good job baby." He said then kissed my forehead. I leaned my head on his shoulder as his arm was around my waist. When we got to the trailer we loaded the horses and I walked the dog.

I was ready to hit the road. Shane locked the trailer up and got in. I leaned against the window and dozed off. A trip home then to Utah.

Once we got home I took the bags in the house and got started on laundry. Once I got a load started I started supper, cold tuna.

I stuck it in the fridge while I put the load into the dryer and put another load in the washer. I used the bathroom then went to finish the tuna. Shane went and got a shower and put his clothes in the correct piles.

I fixed him a sandwich and took a bag of chips to him. "Thank you baby girl." He kissed my cheek as I sat down and ate next to him. When I was done I got a shower and changed out the laundry. I repacked our bags as I folded and got things done.

Shane went to bed before I did. I threw the last load in the dryer and turned the buzzer off. I crawled into bed and and laid down on Shane's chest. His arms wrapped around me and I put a leg over his legs.
