When the phone call ended, both Julie and Christen sat in silence. The defender was crying, tears running down her cheeks, and her girlfriend didn't know what to do or say to help her feel better. They knew they betrayed their team. Carli was right with her atrocious words : they weren't careful enough, and it lead to that picture of them kissing.

The Press were very helpful. Christen's mom was talking to the paparazzi outside of the family house, telling them to just let them be, while her dad was trying to figure out a plan to put the attention back on the Olympics.

While Julie was talking on the phone with her sister Melanie, who was quite worried about her sister wellness, Christen was sitting on the balcony, alone. Her new phone rang, and she knew it was from the group chat with the team because of the special sound her phone made.

She took it in her shaking hands, and read on the screen :

Group chat : USWNT bitches

Hope : Guys. I wanted to say something about the whole JJ/Press drama. I know you've feel like you betrayed us with those pictures. And I also know Carli's words were harsh. But I don't share her opinion. We are a team, and we are supposed to have each other backs. That's why I wanted to ask everyone about a commun attitude we have to adopt in order to calm down the media. Any suggestion ?

Hope : and JJ, I love you.

Whit : Since those pics came out, I don't think denying it is the best thing to do. We should just say that they're in love but still focused on the Olympics, which is the truth I think.

Ash : definitely agree. You guys don't have to feel bad, I plenty understand how annoying those paparazzi are. It's none of your fault.

Pinoe : Imma be serious for once.

BabyHorse : oh God....

Pinoe : my two cinnamon rolls are in danger. But mama Pinoe is here for you. I'll stand by you no matter what. As a gay women, I know how hard it is to come out, especially when you're not the one originally choosing to. So I agree with what the nerd said.

Ali : we love you J and C

Ali : I wanna cry at how united our team is. Well, I'm kinda mad at Carli though.

Hope : you're not the only one.

BabyHorse : you guys, Jill called me. She told me to remain calm, and to take things easy. She said the same thing than Whit said to do.

Tobs : at least Presston shippers will be pleased. I mean, I support you guys. 100%.

Mal : wait you two are together ? Whaaaaat?

Ash : *clap clap clap*

Tobs : you're pretty observant kid

Mal : why didn't anybody told me ???

Sonnett : guys, I think Crystal didn't know either.

HAO : I thought Julie was gonna tell her..

Crys : she didn't.

HAO : damn.

Christen felt quite relieved. Hope has always been such a great role model to look up to, and reading her texts was like receiving God's benediction. She didn't know if Julie had seen it already, buy she knew her girlfriend will be very happy.

She got up and went straight to her mom.

Lindsey was running out of patience.

Moe arrived at Portland yesterday, claiming to come to visit Allie. But deep inside, the brunette knew her friend didn't want to stay home because of family problems. So Lindsay offered her to stay in her apartment for two weeks, so that the two friends would catch up.

They were sitting in the hospital balcony with Tobin, Sam and Emily. They all knew Kelley was sleeping on a chair next to Allies bed. The blonde hadn't woken up yet, and the brunette refused to eat.

Tobin was very concerned, and looked beyond tired.

- Dude, you're whiter than usual, Lindsey said in a thoughtful tone.

- Thanks, Tobin let out.

Moe laughed, and the others followed. The thing with Tobin was that she never expressed her feelings. Everybody knew Kelley was her friend ever since they got on the u-21 team together several years ago. But the most obvious thing was her worrying to loose her best friend Allie.

The brunette just looked at her friends.

- Thanks for being here, she said in a weak voice. Allie would be very happy to have you by her side.

- She'll see us when she wakes up, Moe said.

They all nodded. Tobin knew Allie was scared to be in the team again. She barely knew all the girls, but was just friends with Tobin, Alex and Kelley. But then she connected with Ash, and then with the rest of the girls. Tobin was very happy for her, because she deserved everything she's gotten.

Sam was smiling happily.

- She'll be like "wtf are you guys doing here ? Don't you have something else to do? Cheez".

Her impression of Allie was on point. Moe burst out laughing.

- "Get out if here bitches", Lindsey added, still on the same tone.

- Shut up, Tobin jokingly said. You're making me even more tired.

There was a small silence.

- Do you think her and Kelley..., Emily began.

But she was cut short by Lindsey.

- Knowing what she's been through, I'm surprised she let Kelley in.

- Same, Tobin said. But I have to admit they're a good match.

- Yah, Moe let out. They have nothing in common outside of soccer. I mean, their personalities are totally different.

- They seem to complete each other, Sam said.

She had her eyes locked on Emily. The blonde defender just caught eyes with her, before quickly turning her head. "Is she still talking about Allie and Kels or..." she asked herself.

- Funny how the hearts wants what it wants, Sam added. It's like when you fall in love with a dear friend of yours : you didn't see it coming.

- What a philosophical Mewis we've got here today, Lindsay said. Did you meet someone ?

Sam was still taking quick looks towards Sonnett, who was trying her best not to blush. "What is she doing ? Is she even serious...?" she asked herself.

- Maybe, she said. It's a guy from my hometown I've known for a while now.

Emily's jaw dropped. She already got over her ? Like, they weren't together or anything. But Sam tried to kiss her. That must have meant something.

While the rest of the girl were questioning Sam about her new love interest, Emily was just looking at her hands, not sure why she felt so terrible right now.

It was jealousy.
