chapter 3 - confrontation

Ziva entered Abby's lab at breakneck speed. Her heart was hammering, she never wanted Tony to know how she felt! She knew he couldnt love her like that! she just knew it! Especially if Gibbs found out!

Abby suspiciously looked at Zivas flushed cheeks."Wow, Ziva...whose got those cheeks of yours so lit up?" Ziva immediately snapped, "No one Abby! I do not even know what you are talking about!"

Abby was slightly taken aback but didnt respond. She was slightly hurt. Even though Ziva was a female colleauge, she had never clicked with her and had a friendship like she had had with Kate.

Ziva saw the look on her face and immediately felt badly. "I am sorry, Abby...I did not mean.."

Abby shrugged. "its alright, Ziva. I was only kidding.

Ziva mentally gave herself a shake! get hold of yourself! she thought. Just because Tony had rattled her and reawakened long buried feelings didnt mean she needed to act on the emotions!

Ziva helped Abby catalog in silence. She mentally dreaded going back upstairs and facing Dinozzio after what she had implied.

She slowly took the stairs one by one. Once back at her desk, she glanced across at Dinozzos desk. He looked back, his gaze normal.

Without realizing it, she stared into his eyes for several seconds, thinking on how beautiful the color of his eyes were. Only when Gibbs cleared his throat and came around the corner did she realize she'd been staring for several seconds. "oh no" she thought in horror. "look away look away." Ziva awkwardly glanced at her watch. Gibbs then glanced at his. "you're free to go guys. good work today" he said. Ziva grabbed her things and rushed to the elevator. She didnt press the hold button for Tony, just went straight down. Tony rushed after the elevator but missed it. He groaned. He needed to talk to her!
