NCIS ~ I Will Love You Thru Everything

*CHAPTER 30*

Tony was still sitting outside Ziva's room when Gibbs returned. Gibbs strode in, holding a plastic bag. After seeing Tony's questioning look, Gibbs held out the bag. "Care to explain this, Tony?" he asked.  Tony took one look at the paper inside and froze. It was the note that had been left in Ziva's apartment, the one that said I am always watching you and Tony..

Tony looked at it, his mind working frantically. How to lie to Gibbs..?

Gibbs leaned forward and looked closely at Tony. "I need to know," he said gently but firmly, "if there is anything going on between you and Ziva. Just tell me now, Tony." Tony swallowed. He hated lying to Gibbs, but this was important. He looked Gibbs in the eye, and said "There isn't anything romantic at all going on, boss. I swear. She asked me to help her with something outside the office, but there isn't anything going on here that you wouldn't allow." Gibbs eyes narrowed. "What exactly are you helping her with, Tony?" Tony hesitated. "I'm not really supposed to say...it has to do with her citizenship papers that shes trying to transfer.."

He looked earnestly at Gibbs, hoping he bought it. Gibbs pursed his lips but decided to let it drop.

Finally, a nurse aid poked her head out. "You can see her now," she informed them. Tony strode into the room with Gibbs. Ziva was still asleep and she looked in so much pain. Her entire neck was bandaged, and her head was casted in some spots. Her ribs looked like they'd been splinted as well. "She had alot of internal bleeding," the nurse explained. "But we did find the antidote for the paralysis, so she should be able to move freely now." Gibbs spoke quietly with the nurse for a few moments about the cuts on Ziva's body.

Tony stared at Ziva's still form. He wished he was alone with her to kiss her and reassure her that she was loved. She was so beautiful to him.

Abby burst into the room with McGee in tow. She gasped when she saw Ziva. "Is she...is she going to make it?" she whispered. Mcgee stared at Ziva, horrified. Ziva looked like she'd been to hell and back. They all gathered around Ziva's bed for a few hours, waiting for her to wake up.

[A FEW HOURS LATER]

Ziva's eyes fluttered open. She came awake with a gasp - there was so much pain! Her stomach and ribs felt like they were on fire, burning in flames! And she had such a headache..She noticed everyone sitting aroumd her and immediately teared up. To see everyone here waiting for her, was like nothing shed ever experienced.

Abby reached over and held Ziva's hand. "I knew you would make it," she said. Gibbs smiled. "Welcome back, Ziver. Glad you could join us. How are you feeling?" Ziva's head throbbed.  overwhelmed, she thought. She smiled weakly. "Like junk," she whispered hoarsely. She was already fading back into sleep..The last thing she remembered was Tony, looking deep into her eyes...
