Just my luck

12- misunderstanding??????

I wake up to a rainy morning. Dad got my window fixed last night while Daniel was still here. He left after dessert.
I lay in bed Listening to the rain hit the roof. Then my mind is blown. It's a school day! I immediately jump up and put on my uniform. I run down the stairs almost tripping and run into the kitchen. There's a note on the bench.
'Have a good day at school today darling. Love mum and Dad.' They must have gone to work. I grab some money out of the family lunch money box and a piece of toast stuffing it in my face while I run back up the stairs.

I grab my phone and text Skyla and Taya.
"WE HAVE SCHOOL TODAY!!!!"
"Oh crap!" Taya replies. I laugh. At leased I'm not the only one. I grab my bag and stuff some random crap in there and run back down the stairs this time actually tripping. I have a habit of that. I get up and run out the door. Just as the bus pulls up. I run and jump on it. I see Daniel and Shawn sitting next to each other. We are on the same bus line. I go sit infringement of them.
"Hey!" I say plonking myself on the chair. They stare at me.
"What?!" I say frowning.
"What did you do to your face?" Shawn laughs.
"What do you mean?!" I say laughing back. I grab my phone and open up camera crap. My cheek is bruised.
"I might have... Uh....I might have been running down the stairs.....and there is a slight chance....I might have fallen down them again...." Shawn burst out laughing and I stick my tongue out at him.
"Again?!" He yells.
"Are you alright?" Daniel says laughing. I nod, still laughing.
The bus stops again. Cameron walks on and sits behind Shawn and Daniel.
"What happened to your face?!" He says sitting down.
I slap my hand on my face. Ow. Daniel explains and Cameron cracks up laughing too.
The bus stops again for the fiftieth time and Skyla and Taya walk on. Taya sits next to me and Skyla next to Cam. Taya looks at me. "Did you fall down the stairs again?!" She says.
"Uhhhhhhhhhh....." She cracks up laughing too along with Skyla.
"How did you guess?" Daniel laughs.
"She has a habit." Skyla replies before Taya has the chance. I look down. I definitely isn't the first. For the rest of the way Taya tries to cover up the bruise with foundation. It kind of works.

We get off the bus and walk to our lockers together. I open mine. Someone has hacked in and has written 'bi***'and 'whore' and stuff like that. I frown. "Who did that?!" Taya yells right in my ear.
"Dunno.." I say. I grab my stuff and close my locker. Daniel and I walk to class holding hands. We get a few stares. Now everybody knows we are dating.

I get out of period six. I'm alone. None of my friends chose photography as their electives. I go around the corner. Crap. Deep crap. I see Shawn leaning against the wall kissing another girl. It's not Taya. I run back around the corner and peek only with my head. They don't see me. I feel nosy so I go to stand back but then Taya is next to me. I put my hands on her shoulders.
"Taya normally you shouldn't listen to me , but this time you need to. What ever you do do not look around this corner! It will ruin your life." I was going to tell her after but I didn't want her to see it. "Please."
"Why?"
"Just listen to me!" I say.
She pushes me away and looks around the corner. She freezes. I try to pull her back. She doesn't budge. She stares at Shawn with tears in her eyes. By now he has noticed us. The other girl runs off like a coward.
"Tay-"
"No! Stop! Don't talk to me! How could you?!" She yells.
She runs off. I stand there looking at Shawn.
"Why?" I say.
"I didn't-"
"I have to go find Taya, sorry. We will talk later..." I say. I'm not looking forward to this conversation.
I find Taya in the toilets. I hear her sobbing.
"Taya." I whisper.
"Go away!" She yells. That's the first.
"I'll ta-"
"GO AWAY!" She yells louder. I walk out. And go to my locker. Daniel is leaning against his locker looking at his phone. I unlock mine. He looks up at me.
"What's happening?" He whispers so no one can hear us. Shawn must have told him.
"I don't know, I have talk to Shawn and Taya doesn't want to talk to me." I say still putting stuff in my locker. I grab my bag and shut my locker.
"What did you see?" He says looking into my eyes.
"The bell went and I walked around the corner and I saw him kissing a stranger to me. I run back around the corner but then Taya came up to me. I didn't want her to see because it would be worse than me telling her over text later tonight so I told her not to go around the corner. Obviously she did and she started yelling at Shawn. Then she ran off and I followed her. She told me to go away so I came here." I say speeding.
"What?!" I hear Skyla yell right in my ear. She here'd everything. She looks upset. Well, I don't blame her.

I start walking home. On the way I text Shawn.
"Why did you do it?"
"She kissed me and I was about to push her away when I saw you. She was my ex. I don't know why she did it. Will Taya listen to you?"
"No" I don't hear anything after that. I'm not sure if her is telling the truth or not but I decide to believe him. It didn't look like a real kiss anyway.
I decide not to text Taya. She will probably yell at me. Then Skyla says on our group chat.
"I've stopped talking to cam for you."
I knew this was going to happen. They will kill me if I don't either dump Daniel or stop talking to him. So I lie without thinking.
"Same but about Daniel"
"Good" Taya replies "thanks"
I text Daniel and tell him everything. He understands. Tomorrow is a public holiday can you believe. Daniel says that him, Shawn and Cameron are going to the beach tomorrow to get their mind off things. He asks if I want to come and that he told the guys. Apparently Cam is really upset.

Then I get a text from Taya saying if we wanted to go go cart racing tomorrow. I try to think of an excuse.
"I'm sorry I'm going to a dinner party with my family tomorrow..." They believe me.
