The husband in the couple who had been watching the broadcast quickly got up and started checking the wiring, as the power hadn't gone out. However, as he did so, a humanoid Pokémon encased in some sort of bubble appeared in front of him, causing him to shout in surprise as the greenish Pokémon seemed to attack him. The attack instead hit the opposite window, and a small, black, dog-like Pokémon jumped in, running to the jewellery that was on the coffee table and grabbing it before smoke filled the room, and the two Pokémon seemed to have vanished.
"It was Red! We've been robbed!" The wife screamed, terrified as she hugged herself, as if she was about to be injured.
A few hundred miles away, atop one of the largest buildings in town, stood a lone figure, laughing to themselves. They were clutching their sides, as if they had been told the most hilarious joke in all of existence. This person was known simply as Red, the notorious thief that had recently struck the calm Unova region. And no, they weren't the Red who was the champion of Kanto, and the proclaimed strongest trainer. This Red was very different indeed. This Red was evil, cruel, heartless, and twisted. This Red wore the crimson shade as it reminded them of blood. This Red...this Red was a thief, and stole food and means to buy food. Because this Red...was a street rat with nowhere to go.
"Good work Bubbles, Terror. We can feed ourselves for a week once we get this stuff sold." A rather feminine voice left Red's lips, as they looked at their two Pokémon partners. Bubbles was a Duosion, who had been with Red for most of their life. They had grown up together, and were only ever apart during robberies. Terror was a Houndour, who had recently joined Red's team. Terror had been abused by its former trainer, and had run away to only stumble upon the thief.
Red looked up at the sky, sitting down in-between the two Pokémon. "It's going to be a big day tomorrow. We might even get caught. We should get some rest."
