*lick* Red felt something wet run along her cheek, waking her up. Thinking it was her imagination, she tried to go back to sleep. However, a few seconds later, she was woken up once more by the same wet thing. Slowly, she opened her eyes, and saw a large, black nose, and a pair of electric blue eyes. She jumped, trying to back up but being unable to as her back was already against the wall of the cave. The creature smiled, its rather stubby tail wagging, almost as if it were a dog-like Pokémon, despite resembling a baby horse. Red heard Fletcher chuckle from a short distance away, and the small, black and white Pokémon ran away from Red and to Fletcher, allowing Red to compose herself. "What the hell...!?"
"This is Thunder. I found him last night, took him in and treated his wounds, and now he's completely healthy again. And I think he likes you." Fletcher seemed to smirk slightly while stroking Thunder's mane. Red huffed and rubbed her cheek with the back of her hand.
"Next time, don't wake me up with saliva..." the redhead mumbled, standing up and brushing the sand off while Fletcher laughed more, before he had to duck as Red threw one of her boots at him.

After what seemed like hours of fighting, the pair set off once more, the weather a lot clearer than the day before. They didn't need to travel much before they reached a rather large, extravagant Route Gate, and stepped into it.

This was no Route Gate at all, rather a bustling marketplace filled with stalls upon stalls of different wares that people were selling. Red and Fletcher slowly walked through the crowd, looking around at all the different people. Since Red was a rather observant person, she noticed a pair of teenage boys, holding hands while talking to someone about some product or other. One of the boys was shorter, with dark brown hair, while the taller one had a sort of dirty blond shade of hair.

Another person that stood out to Red was a man wearing a bright orange shirt and a green waistcoat. His hair was brown, and rather spiky, and he seemed to be trying to flirt with a young woman working at a stall that was selling some sort of jewellery. Red mentally sighed to herself, being able to grasp that the man's attempts were futile, judging from the woman's facial expressions as he talked.

Red looked around once more, and her eyes landed on someone rather...unique, with hair equally as red as her own. His eyes were what grabbed Red, however, as they weren't of a natural colour. His eyes locked with hers for a moment before he seemed to almost vanish in the crowd. Red tried to pursue this mysterious stranger, but the crowd was too thick to push through easily.
"You aren't trying to leave me behind when we're so close to Nimbasa City now, are you?" Fletcher's voice cut through Red's thoughts as he gently put his hand on her shoulder, knowing she could retaliate if he grabbed her too hard. Red slowly turned to him, shaking her head slightly.
"Of course not, you idiot. Now come on, I really hate being in this massive crowd."
