"So, the new cadets just transferred, huh? Wonder how many will stay once they've had a taste of real action." The gossip was plentiful in the headquarters of the Castelia Police Force, as the new recruits had just been transferred from the academy.

"I'd be surprised if we had half of them left after their first mission." The two officers who were talking sat down together at a table in the cafeteria, and multiple conversations sprung up.

One cadet wasn't with everyone else at lunch, however, for he was searching through files in the records room. This cadet's name was Fletcher Campbell, and he was determined to find a way to finally catch Red.

"There has to be something..." Fletcher sighed, leaning back in his chair while going over Red's files. "No gender, no age, no motivation for any of the crimes. No known base of operations, no allies, nothing. Bloody hell..." Fletcher sat up straight again, running a hand through his hair. "What are we going to do, Hunter? There's literally no information." He looked down at his companion, Hunter, who he had acquired during his police training. Hunter was a Growlithe, and it wasn't uncommon for police officers to own them. The only difference about Hunter was that he was a runt, and if it wasn't for Fletcher, Hunter would be all alone, fending for himself in a forest full of strong Pokémon.

Hunter looked up from the bone he was gnawing on, and at his trainer, confused. Fletcher sighed. "It's no use, unless we go out and ask around. But we would never get clearance, especially on our first day." He stood up, collecting some papers and placing them in his bag before walking out, Hunter at his heels.

However, just as Fletcher exited the records room, the alarm sounded.

"RED HAS BEEN SPOTTED AT A NEARBY JEWELLERY SHOP. ALL UNITS DEPLOY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL." Officers everywhere started running around frantically, trying to find PokéBalls or a jacket or something else crucial. Fletcher was ready, though. He immediately ran out of the building, heading to the jewellery shop a few blocks away. He could get valuable information. Or even catch Red. This was his chance.
