School ended and I decided to go see Mr. King. At first I decided I wasn't, but I did need him to explain the course work to me. I walked up to his classroom and knocked before I entered.
"Come in." He called. I walked inside and his eyes immediately fell on me. He was sitting at his desk, leaning back in his chair. "Scarlette. I was afraid you wouldn't show up."
"Well, I did miss the course outline. So I'm gonna need you to explain it to me."
He was studying me very carefully. "That's not why I wanted you to stop by, but since you're here, I might as well give you what we did in class today. Here." He stood up and handed me a packet of papers. "The first page is everything we'll be reading over the year and the other pages are just forms your parents will need to fill out. Return them tomorrow."
"Ok. Then I guess I'll be going...I have to catch the bus. I turned around to leave, but Mr. King caught my arm and pulled me into his big muscular arms and pressed me against his rock hard chest. I gasped.
"You're not going anywhere just yet." He said softly in a sexy voice.
"What are you doing?" I asked, terrified.
"This." He tilted is head and pressed his lips against mine. I started to kiss him back, but soonm realized what I was doing and pushed him away from me.
"Stay away from me" I warned him.
"Oh come one Scarlette. You know you liked it, otherwise you wouldn't have kissed me back." He said cockily, leaning against one of the desks.
"You caught me by surprise. That's all."
"I know you're interested in me Scarlette....Scarlette...That's a very pretty name. How did you get that name?" He asked, starting to walk closer to me. With each step he took towards me, I took a step back. I gulped.
"My...my mother named me Scarlette because I was born through a C-section and she was left with a scar." I explained, still walking backwards until I was up against the wall.
"That's a bad reason for someone to name their child that."
"Yeah well, my parents never loved me."
"That can't be true. Who could hate someone like you?" He was pressed up against me now, pinning me to the wall.
"Get away from me"
"I saw the look in your eyes when you first saw me walking down the hall. There's no denying you want me."
"I said get away from me!" I pushed him back with all my strength and ran out the door and down the hallway in tears. How could something like this happen to me? MY senior year, I get a teacher who's completely in love with me. I finally got outside to the front of the school, only to see the last bus leaving.
"Scarlette!" I heard Mr. King yell after me.
I turned around to see him coming out of the school. I ran. I was afraid of him. I ran down to the sports field, which was deserted because it's winter and outdoor sports are over. I always come here when I've had a bad day...you know, when no one's around that is. I went up to my special spot...the the left corner of the very top of the bleachers. I curled up in the corner, bring my knees to my chest, crying. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I jumped and looked up to see Mr. King kneeling down next to me. Doesn't he get the hint that I'm not interested!?!
"Scarlette, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you scared."
"What don't you understand about leaving me alone?!"
"Technically you said get away from me..."
"Then Get. Away. From .Me" I said through clenched teeth.
"Why are you so scared to admit your feelings for me? Just admit you love me."
I stood up in anger "You want me to admit my feelings for you?! Ok! I think you're a lazy, stupid, good for nothing teacher who sexually harasses students! And for your information, I DO NOT believe in love. Never did, never will. Now stay away from me!" I walked down the bleachers, leaving Mr. King standing up there alone, watching me walk away.
It was a 30 minute walk home. I didn't mind it though...I needed the exercise. But I finally got home and entered the house to find my parents arguing...again. But they stopped their argument and turned their attention towards me.
"Where have you been?" My mother asked in a not so pleasant voice.
"School." I replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Don't use that tone with me! I'm your mother! You show me respect!"
"I am sorry mother." I replied sarcastically.
She came up to me a slapped me across the face, causing me to fall to the ground. "Don't you ever disrespect me again or you'll be out of this house! Understand?"
I nodded my head.
"Good. Now go up to your room and stay there! The only time you can leave is for school. You hear?!"
"What about food?"
"Hahaha!" My mother cackled. "Children like you don't deserve food. Now go!" She commanded. I picked myself up off the floor and dragged myself upstairs to my room. All there was in my room was a bed, a closet, a mirror, and a desk. Not much. Just a plain and simple room. The walls were grey and the paint was chipping off the walls. I was lucky enough to have a cell phone though. After hours of convincing them, they finally gave me a phone just to get rid of me.
I decided do some homework...yes, my teachers went to the trouble to give me homework. Oh wait! My parents have to sign some forms Mr. King gave me. I opened my door a crack and called down. "Mother? Father?"
"WHAT?!" They both screamed at me.
"Uhh..you guys have to sign some forms for school. They're due tomorrow."
I heard two pairs of footsteps coming up the stairs. "Give me the papers." my father commanded.
I gave them to him along with a pen and he signed all of them. He handed me the pen back, but crumpled all the papers into a ball. "Here." He shoved the wad of papers into my hand. "Oh and by the way, your leaving."
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"You're getting married." My mother said.
"You can't be serious."
"We are. They'll be coming over tomorrow to meet you. It's all been arranged." My mother replied in a proud voice.
"Why are you doing this to me?" I said on the verge of tears.
"Money." My father answered. "They agreed to pay us $500,000 in exchange for you to marry their son. Their son already knows who you are, so he's excited. You should be too. You're marrying a multi-billionaire's son."
"Exactly who is this person?" I asked.
"You'll find out tomorrow. Do you really think we'd tell you after you disrespected me today?" My mother said venomously. "Now go to bed. And tomorrow come straight home after school."
Then they went out of my room and slammed the door shut. Is this really happening to me?
