-Darcie-

The black sheets were tangled amongst my legs as I stretched my arms above my head, letting out a silent yawn.

I moved my legs and wrapped as much as I could of the covers around me like a cocoon, screwing my face up in discomfort at the slight aching coming from between my legs, keeping my eyes shut so that the bright morning light from outside didn't burn my eyes.

I rolled to the left, and opened my eyes slightly as I heard soft breathing coming from Chandler who was now in front of me.

He lay on his front with his left hand under the pillow and his head resting on his right arm.
Chandler's head was turned towards me although his face was mostly covered by his chestnut hair which had fallen to the sides.

I hesitantly moved my right arm across me and used my forefinger to gently push some of his hair out of his face, instantly regretting it as I did so.

As soon as I had made contact with his hair, Chandler's eye which wasn't against the pillow quickly opened and started at me. I retracted my hand as I jumped, and quickly turned so I was staring at the ceiling, biting my lip in embarrassment.

"I wasn't sleeping." He said in a raspy voice. "I've told you, I hardly ever sleep."

"Right," I quietly replied. "Sorry."

Chandler let out a breathy chuckle. "You're so scatty. Still." I turned my head to face him with a slightly puzzled look on my face. "I liked the confidence. Where'd it go?" He turned to face the ceiling like I had done.

After several seconds of silence, Chandler said, still facing the ceiling, "How are you feeling?"

"Uhm..." I started, shifting around slightly. I tilted my head slightly and saw that Chandler had a small smile on his lips which made me do the same. "Yeah, uh... I feel good. I mean, I-" I stopped talking, as my smile disappeared.

"Hmm?" He hummed, turning to face me.

Oh God. My heart began to beat faster and my chest tightened, as though I was about to begin a panic attack. I swallowed.

"I...we...didn't use protection." I blurted, squeezing the bed covers in my fists as I tried to steady my breathing.

"And?"

How is he so calm?

"And? Don't you understand? I could be-"

"Darcie, calm down." He started, sitting up and reaching for his tshirt which was scrunched up at the end of the bed. He quickly slid it over his head and tugged it over his chest. "I need to go to the pharmacy today. To pick up my prescription."

Chandler stood up, stretching in only his tshirt and boxers, and continued his sentence. "So while I'm there, you can just grab some... morning after pills."

I pushed myself up, scrunching a hand in my messy hair as I calmed down. Once I was leaned against the headboard, I called Chandler.
He turned around as he was about to enter the bathroom, and I continued.

"What happens now? Like... between us?"

He laughed. "Darcie, I may be fucked up but I'm not really one for a one night stand." I continued staring at him, wanting an elaboration.
He smiled sheepishly, facing the ground as he scratched the back of his neck.

Chandler turned his head towards me but still keeping his eyes fixed on the floor, he said "What happens is up to you." He looked up to me and smiled again. "I'll find a way to survive either way."
